I bought an engagement ring 3 weeks ago but not the center stone because I wasn''t getting a good deal on the stone. For reference, here is the engagement ring: http://www.tacori.com/Engagement-Rings/2616RD65 After a few weeks of looking up what''s important in a stone I have found one that I think fits my budget and fulfills everything I''ve been looking for. Is there any problems that stick out with this stone on paper? It is between 0-2 on the HCA scale.

Certification: GIA
Measurements: 6.45 x 6.51 x 3.93
Ct weight: 1.01
Cut grade: Excellent
Color: H
Clarity: SI2
Symmetry: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Cutlet: None
Girdle: Thin to medium 3%
Fluorescence: Medium Blue
Depth %: 60.6
Table %: 58
Crown Angle: 35
Pavilion Angle: 40.6

Price: $3,925

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Ryan

Numbers look good, verify eyeclean to your standards.

One of the experts will confirm or disagree soon, no doubt

Looks good, an Idealscope image would be useful if you have it, is the diamond for sale online? Also what are the grade setting inclusions?

looks good from the numbers. Ditto above to check with vendor if eye-clean and get an Idealscope image if possible.

Yes the diamond is online. I''m not sure how to report the grade setting inclusions, I tried to upload an MS Paint screen shot of the diamond report from GIA but the file is too big. I will call the vendor today and make sure it is eye clean and have them send me an idealscope image if possible.

If the file is too big, just cut-and-paste the inclusion plot and the symbols underneath it.

Any comments listed in the space above the inclusion plot might also be relevant.

Ok, so the vendor had this to say about the diamond:

According to the diamond cutter " There is a large white crystal/feather on the table that reaches the surface & is faintly visible from 6-8" away".

I''m guessing for $4,000 that makes this diamond not worth it.

I would keep looking or get an independant appraiser to check out the diamond, and make the sale final on the feather checking out.
