i just recentely got engaged and need to start looking at venues; just wondering if any of you had suggestions. i am a bit limited b/c our venue needs to hold 400ish. i really had my heart set on the royal palms but they only old 150. let me know if you have any great ideas.

thanks so much!

hi aggie. i live in phoenix and one of my friends recently got married and had her reception at the Ritz Carlton. she didn''t have the ceremony there, but i know that they do both if that''s what you''re looking for and the ballroom holds up to 450 people.

other places that i think might hold larger venues are the castle at ashley manor, stonebridge manor, the biltmore, and the wrigley mansion.

hope this helps!

I''m in Phoenix too, are you looking for a specific part of town? You might also want to go to the Bridal show this weekend, I went last year with a friend and there were tons of venue reps there so you can get an idea of what places are large enough. I haven''t been to any weddings that large here, but I have been to other events at the Biltmore, the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs, the Phoenician and the new Renessance hotel by the Cardinals stadium. Most of the big hotel/resorts would have rooms large enough, it''ll just be decidng what fits in your budget and style.

The Westin Kierland and the JW Marriott Desert Ridge are both beautiful and I bet they would be big enough.

thanks v!v!. MustangGal. jen2M. i think i may be a minority because i''m really not that excited about wedding planning! yikes! i do need to get on the ball and start looking at venues b/c i am planning to get married sometime in the fall. also, i interviewed a few wedding planners and need to figure out if we should hire one. have any of you used one to plan everything? thanks again!
