I'll begin... I got two Loliondo spessartite garnets as Christmas/birthday gifts (my b-day is in Jan) form my husband. They were cut by Gene.

The larger one is a 7.25 ct oval, 12.92 x 10.36mm.
The smaller is a 3.22 ct round, 7.8mm.

They're a gorgeous, yummy orange :lickout: ! Even my husband was amazed, and he usually doesn't get excited about a new stone beyond asking "How much did it cost?" This time it was "Wow, they really glow!"

Sorry about the lack of pictures, I'll post some today.

A 6mm round emerald!

Will be receiving it in a few hours! (Haven't seen it in person yet) Eekeke!

Ohhh! That sounds beautiful! Congratulations, I hope it makes your heart sing :appl:

Looking forward to your impressions and pics!

Lucky lucky lucky!!! Me too, want to see pics!!

A cabochon Rubellite bracelet containing 22.5ct of gemstones.

A multi sapphire bracelet to wear as an "everyday" summer bracelet - sapphires will, I'm sure, be highly treated but the price reflects that so I'm not concerned in this instance.

PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES!!! oh where is that button/ smiley icon that says THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICTURES!!! :D

No stones as gifts for me... :(( No one ever gives me stones as gifts ;(

Here are those pics of the spess garnets.

The first one is a 7.25 ct oval.

The second is a 3.22 ct round. It looks a little yellowish here but IRL it's much more orange.

LovingDiamonds, PLEASE post pictures of your bracelets! They sound beautiful!

Lady Disdain, sorry to hear that :(( . I wouldn't receive anything r/t colored stones either if I didn't actually say "Please, I would love X for Christmas/ birthady." ;))

Ooo I love those oranges BN! Plans yet?

Can't wait to see everyone else's pics!

I should have pics of my present soon!

Thanks, packrat! I love these oranges, too. Reminds of an orange lifesaver- yum! Have to remind myself that if I give in to temptation, I'll break a tooth  !

What's your present? Is it something from Sally? Please re-fresh my memory!

Tis this. Second hand (or rather kind of third hand actually) from my supplier haha! Or enabler.

Oh yeah, I remember! From Liz. It's really beautiful

Yes, dying to see it! :appl:

My emerald is really pretty!

Its slightly lighter than what I would have preferred. IRL, its a gorgeous shade of deeper medium grass green in the gem box on its white cotton padding. When I take it out and put it on my hand, however, its a medium green-seafoam sort of color. I'm wondering if a bezel, with a mostly enclosed back, would help deepen the color on this stone. Any ideas?

Congrats on all your new lovelies for Christmas and for pictures too. Everyone who posts here as a recipient MUST provide pictures.

Such pretty pretty pretties! I never get stones as gifts either but it's just as well. DH would never know how to choose one -- if I wanted a vintage car, though, he's the go-to guy! (Actually, I'd like an old Corvette w/the teeth grille, an original Thunderbird, a Jaguar Mark II for starters, after I get my blue spinel & green tourm set!) Enjoy & congratulations, giftees!

BN the spessartites are gorgeous, especially the large oval.

Would love to see the rest of the CS gifts.

Afghani tourmaline, cushion cut by Gene from his small/dwindling rough. Will be 3-stone ring.
12-mm round Four Peaks ammie ring, solitaire 6-prong Stuller, set by Michael.
Aqua cab, silky, set in ring, argentium/18kt yg by JKT with two side diamonds.
Peridot ring, round Portuguese cut 10.5 mm, by Andrew Gulig/Gemfix, set by JKT in her vine-y bridge setting in argentium and 18 kt yg.

Stonie they all sound fantastic. I am especially keen to see...all of them!

Your emerald is gorgeous!! You really must be pleased! I think that shade of green is beautiful. I have one little round emerald (about 4.5 mm) and it's set in a yellow gold bezel and it's a deeper green-- unfortunately I'm no help here because I never saw it before it was set. I'm guessing bezeling would deepen the shade of green of yours, since setting a stone in a bezel generally seems to darken it a bit. But, I do love the color of your stone

I love seeing everyone's new pretties.

I did not get any CS gifts this year. My husband gave me a gift to support my other new hobby, cooking. He got me a week of cooking lessions at a good cooking school in the area. However, I will not be able to go for the next 6 months. If I can't go in the fall (due to time off issues), I might put the money towards a CS :naughty: . I think my husband likes my cooking hobby as he benefits directly from it.

However, as a gift to myself, I am sending my Richard Homer Spess to JKT this month. I will be starting a thread about setting ideas soon.

Very pretty stones! The blue green tourmaline from Barry is really lovely; I'm looking forward to your pictures of it.

The spess is gorgeous, too! I think I have its twin!

Thanks! I'm very pleasantly surprised at how saturated both these stones are, the spess glows, and the tour sparkles like the caribbean. They actually look great side by side.

Neat :appl: !

Cooking lessons sound great! I can see how your husband would benefit, as well ;)) !

Looking forward to the thread on your Richard Homer Spess.

I got a diamond necklace (snowflake!) and money towards settings...so yeah!
