Basically, I''m new to diamonds. Trying to learn as much as I can now. Just wondering if someone have seen the Destinee diamonds and see if it''s good.
My bf and I are trying to search for my engagement ring.
Welcome,
You have definitely come to the right place to understand about diamonds and find your ring! Do some reading and you will find out quickly what you probably can afford and do like.Try comparing prices and quality online with some stones that you have picked out locally.
I have seen the Lazare and the Brilliant Rose at the B&M stores and most times you are paying for the Brand.
I have bought online from 2 vendors, GOG and Superbcert, both H&A stones. One of them is a 1.39FVS2 from GOG and details are in the Educational diamond section.
To all the experts in Singapore..... hope that you can help me on this.
I'm looking for a diamond ring of 0.32 - 0.5 carat and my budget is US$1700- $2200. Can someone suggest what's the best deal i can get for a quality diamond??
You have to decide on the other 3Cs and the type of ring setting that you want. Unfortunately there is no shortcut. Go into pricescope or go into the vendors listed here.
once you have done a shortlist, you can post it here and get everyone to give you their opinion. What you have indicated is too general.Read the tutorials above if you have time
Just to get you started go into www.superbcert.com and do a search, I bought a RB 0.45 J VS2 H&A for $935, thereabout, and you can check out the ring section for the ring design.A Vatche ring design will be about $1000 or less. Also make sure you check that you have the US ring size equivalent. This might well be within your budget with sufficient money leftover.
But you can also do that with the other reputable vendors on this site.

Hi, Fate78
I'm rushing so can't write too much now... I will tell you that I have personally seen the Destinee diamond, as well as in a special setting... I was also fortunate enough to meet with someone involved in the making of the stone... simply said... It is cut to very exacting standards, moreso than other apparent creators of the Ideal Cut... and well... wow, it's beautiful. I also was given to understand that it is very well/fair priced.
sorry if this information comes too late to you and your fiancee... heck, maybe he wants to get it for you for valentines day or the wedding! (don't tell him I said so)... all the same, congratulations, and best wishes for a life full of all the wonderful things you wish for yourselves!
Hi, just notice your post that you need some help. Hope i can help you out in some ways. For those destinee diamonds, all i can say is they are very well cut diamonds. Comes with AGS OOO grading plus a very special setting that only the B&M store give to set that diamond. nothing wrong with the certification but i would say the price is a bit on the high side.
there are a few around that brand their diamonds and charging preimum on it. well thats business pt of view. can't blame them. You were saying you are looking for a 0.3 to 0.5 range, i do stock them. for your price range i think there is no problem getting a nice stone.
A quick search on the PS search engine for H&A diamonds with the same or better clarity and colour as your two stones reveals 4 different companies selling stones for $1457*SP, $1533*SP, $1609*S and $1718*S respectively (all prices in US$).
A 0.423 E/ VVS1 AGS Ideal H&A ACA (A Cut Above) from Whiteflash is US $1,808.10
Since they have already been purchased, do enjoy the beauty of them and enjoy wearing them in good health and happiness!!
