I know antique cut moissanites have been huge here lately. I thought it would help to have a thread where we can post our pieces or loose stones, what they referred to the cut as, dimensions for the stone, color, who the vendor is, the best way to reach them, and bottom line, would they recommend purchasing from them.

Here is mine:
From Tianyu
They called it an old European cushion cut.
Size was 6.5 mm x 6.5 mm
I believe this was their colorless moissanite

Would I recommend: yes for their stones or a simple solitaire, but I would not recommend something as complex as I requested it pretty on the hand, however, up close their are a few spots I wish were more refined.

I think the hybrid you’re talking about might be the ACC tianyu cut for some girl. It was more oval looking than cushion

Just saw this on the SG thread from yesterday. I have one that is more square and one that is more rounded but mine are both G/H. This one is a lady I was helping on Reddit so I showed her pics of mine. Tianyu kept cutting it incorrectly so this was the 3rd try and they rounded the corners a bit more and she was happy. I think this one is colorless though but it is very pretty.

I just got this one done for my SIL. She saw all my rings at Xmas and had to have one. The center is 8 mm from SG with 4.5 mm H&A sides. The bottom pics are not great and the setter did single claw prongs so I have to get it fixed on Monday to double claw before it gets mailed. I had this done in Sweden because I wanted it to be a higher quality platinum. She also wanted to keep it very simple. I would have preferred a trellis design but it is a basic 3 stone with rail.

I am finally going to get these 4.5 mm ones put in the earring post I ordered at the same time. I love these baby ACC’s and after my diamond 5 stone gets finished this week I probably won’t be able to help myself and get a 5 stone made out of baby ACC’s as well. So darn cute!

@lovedogs a seller in Cali called Blessed Finds on Etsy. They specialize in antique cut sapphires but have sold a few moissanites. Not sure if they would custom cut them? I know they take orders for custom cut antique cut sapphires. I love the stone, such a fireball!

Here is an 8mm OEC and an 8mm OMC, both from Starsgem. I’ve only ever gotten loose stones; no full rings. I recommend! [email protected] is the best way to get to them.

It’s a GH It actually belongs to my mom so I don’t have many pictures, but it faces up pretty white.

I thought I would share my Amora Gem OECs even though these are not the greatest pictures. (The background is actually a white desk to give you an idea of how far off the color is.) The stone with the open culet is the original AG OEC and the other one is an Amora August Vintage OEC. The Amora Gems are no longer available in these cuts, but the August Vintage OEC is available from AVInc and I assume it looks the same as my Amora AV. The original OEC is 6.8mm D IF and looks faintly blue in some lighting which I find attractive. The AVOEC is 7mm G VVS2 and is a very brilliant stone which shows very little to no tint. They both display a great deal of fire in the right light. I've had the original stone almost four years and the AV for a year and a half and I really need to get these set! I definitely recommend the August Vintage OEC!

I know, same. I think as long as you go under 2 carats, GH stones should be okay from Mona...if going larger it's just better to default to colorless until she gets the colors straightened out.

I feel like I haven't seen any good looking (based on photo / video) pear, oval, marquise etc. in moissanite. I don't know if they just haven't figured out how to cut it well yet or what. I wonder if one of these companies could do something like an "oval brilliant" similar to what august vintage is working on. there is nowhere to see moissanite that i know of in my area so it's a leap of faith for me with so-so results so far....

I also would prefer the yellow tint (obviously I'd prefer champagne, but she don't have that). So I'm hoping color won't be an issue for me.
