Oh boy, Skippy, I don''t know anything about appraising antiques but these items you posted (necklace watch, horsepin and pencil) are so unique and wonderful. It''s even better that they have a family history. I hope you''ll post more and tell us more about them too.

My husband loved reading your posts; it made his day! In fact I forgot about it and he asked so he read the thread; he was so happy you liked his treasures

skippy, you might be able to find a suitable appraiser at your local museum or if Sotheby''s or a similar auction house has an office near you. Also, you might be able to email Sotheby''s photos and get an appraisal...not sure but it''s worth a shot.

Good idea! thanks! I think they only thing hubby wants appraised is the horse pin.

Wow Skippy, you have an antique piece from Asprey''s! Gosh. And such a beautiful one at that! What a lovely, lovely pin. An amazing heirloom piece and very wearable. Will you wear it, do you think? (I know, it belongs to your DH, but he might share, right?

You are so kind; thank you! I didn''t think of wearing it. Maybe if the prongs look good; then I will wear it on a special occasion but I think it is for men to wear on their ties. I don''t think that should stop me. heehehee

I think it would look equally good on your jacket or whatever. If you ask nice, and it is all safe and secure, maybe you could wear that lovely little horse turn about! If it was me, DH would have to prise it out of my greedy little fingers!
