And anyone else who wants to chime in!

So I'd been thinking about getting a set for a year or so and was really being wishy-washy about it because I already had three sets of dishes. But about three weeks ago Macy's had this sale: buy one, get one free and get another 15% off with a coupon in the paper. So my big Saturday night outing was picking out colors and pieces of Fiestaware.
I love dishes that can be bought open stock because really, how many people use cups and saucers anymore? And I've got mugs coming out of my ears. Plus, there's only two of us, so I don't need 10 or 12 of everything.
So without further ado.....
10 dinner plates: ivory, cobalt, marigold, peacock and scarlet
10 luncheon plates: same colors as dinner plates
6 individual pasta bowls, a Macy's exclusive piece: cobalt, peacock and scarlet

4 salad plates in marigold to go with 4 cobalt ones I already had
4 soup-cereal bowls in ivory to go with 4 cinnabar ones I already had

I already had 2 serving platters in cobalt and black and 2 large round serving bowls in cinnabar. (Why, oh why did they discontinue cinnabar?)

I would advise anyone thinking about getting some to find a store to go look at the colors in person. I was really surprised how much I liked marigold when I saw it in person. And remember some of the colors will look a little different in incandescent light.

Yay!! :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

Congrats, Texaskj! I love the way even a pile of dirty Fiesta dishes looks so cheery in the dishwasher.

I LOVE your color combo! Awesome! :love: So that everyone has a visual reference of your colors, here are some pics I swiped off the factory's website (all except ivory);

Oh good lordy I want those pasta bowls! Alas, no new plates...no new anything, for that matter...until we close on our new home and move in in July! ;(

While I was on the factory website, I noticed this bit of BIG NEWS: They've got a new color coming out!

:wavey: :wavey: :wavey: :wavey: FLAMINGO! :wavey: :wavey: :wavey: :wavey:

Not sure I like it, but some people will love it, I'm sure;

And just to make your day, here's a link to the factory page for Cinnabar, where you can still get whatever you want! :bigsmile:

I pine for lilac fiestaware.

My aunt & uncle lived on Lake Wawasee in Indiana & I used to spend a week or 2 there in summers. She had multi-colors of Fiestaware & I can't see it without thinking of hot summer evenings on their big screened back porch with a ton of relatives around a huge round table, all set with cheery bright plates bearing grilled corn on the cob & burgers. Next to one wall stood a huge antique oak ice box (electrified by then) with nickel fittings that was crammed to the gills with cold-frosted coke bottles. To little-kid me, allowed one coke a week at home, this was all Nirvana. Fiestaware takes me back to happy happy times.

Aw, gee, thanks for the great responses guys.
iLander, I'm not sure about that flamingo myself. I'm not a pink person and I can't imagine a guy liking it, but to each his own. Thanks for the cinnabar link. I need to decide pretty soon if I'm going to get some more. And one of the clerks who helped me said the same thing about the dishwasher. I love how they look in the cabinet also.
vc10um, keep those bowls in the back of your mind for after the move. They are beyond useful. The rim soup bowls are way too shallow to be of any good.
JF, what a sweet, lovely story. Really. I think of my grandmother whenever I see blue willow dishes.

I have the Navy one and love it!

I love Fiestaware too!!! If I had a summer home I would definitely own more than the few pieces I currently have. The climate where I live can be cool and dreary for too many months and when I use the pieces of Fiestaware on our dinner table it really is uplifting. Each of my kids has their own favorite cereal bowl. And these dishes always find their way on the table at their birthday parties. I found some pieces at a yard sale once that were going for a song. They were in excellent condition and the seller had no idea how coveted these dishes are, for some.
My everyday dishes are Denby, and sometimes those are just too plain and dull, so my bright and colourful Fiestaware changes things up quite nicely.
