Who saw the jaw dropping opal pin with diamonds and green garnets on tonights antique road show?The black opal was one of the best ive seen in years!A real stunner!Worth every penny of the appraisal!

That''s pretty. I wish I could get into Opals, they appear to be DH''s favorite stone and the only one he ever really wants to buy me.

Opals are my fathers favorite gem and he carried one through the second world war in his pocket.After the war he had it set in a tie bar and then when i got into the jewelry trade in the 1970s we designed a pendant for my mother.

It kinda reminds me of the world... encased in diamonds. Yum! (my birthstone, too!!)

There was a woman on there once who turned up with 3 pieces of jewelry that she thought were probably costume. One was. The other two you could tell were diamonds even on the TV! One was a diamond pin with 2 old cuts in the center that were probably 3ctw. The other was a necklace with 3 old cut diamonds that probably totalled 10ctw. Seriously, I nearly fell off my chair! I was beside myself when she pulled them out of the bag!

Oh and, of course, her comment was that she''d never dare to wear the pieces. That made me so sad.
