Hi,

I currently have a five stone anniversary ring in 18K Yellow Gold. Each stone is .20 ct. I am looking to change the setting to platinum or 18K white gold. I have looked at the Vatche 5 stone trellis setting and really liked it. However, I also like the antique look but have not been able to find a setting to accomodate my 5 stones.

My question is: Is it feasible for me to take my current 5 diamonds and put them in a different setting? If so, where can I purchase the setting and have the diamonds mounted. My budget is $1,000 for the setting. I would appreciate any help that would lead me in the right direction. Thanks so much!

I''d look into stuller settings. they don''t sell to the public but most jewelers can order from them. You might also consider going custom. Using your own stones 1K might be doable. I''d email or call Whiteflash (www.whiteflash.com) and/or Mark T. at www.engagementringsdirect.com for a custom quote. Both of them would be able to get you a stuller setting (if stuller makes them for a 5 stone anniversary ring) and give you a quote on it as well.

If you are wearing this ring with an engagement ring, you need to be sure the setting is as low as possible to avoid damage with the diamonds rubbing the e-ring. If the stones are a standard size, you can probably easily get a stock setting, but if not, you''ll have to go custom. Or, the easiest thing to do is just rhodium plate the ring you have! It can cost between $25-50 and can last a few months or a few years depending on your body chemistry. So if you like the setting you have, I might try that at least temporarily.

Thanks for your replies! I'm a newbie and probably didn't give enough details. I found a few settings from the stuller website that had some of the detail that I am looking for in my new setting. I really like the antique scroll work on one of them.

A little background:

Our 10th wedding anniversary is coming up August 30th. We wanted to get me an upgraded ring, BUT, decided to enlarge our family instead LOL. So, I am wanting to change my setting. I love my diamonds. They really sparkle. But, I'm not crazy about my setting. I think the bars in between the diamonds take away from their sparkle. I would like to have them sitting higher up and enhance their sparkle even more. I am going to try and post pics. Please forgive me for the quality and please don't laugh at the flower pic.

This is from Stuller also. I really like this. Although, I will not have the larger center stone.

Also, I will not be wearing another ring with this one.

This is a style that knoxjewelers.biz would make really well. They have reasonable prices as well.

Thanks! I will check them out!
