I enjoy watching anime. My favorites are Fullmetal Alchemist and Read or Die. I''ve also seen the following:

Inuyasha
ChronoCrusades
Hellsing
ElenLied (I may have spelled that wrong)
Samurai 7
X
Akira
Evangelion
Noir

and a lot more, but that''s all I could remember off the top of my head. Any other PSers have watch anime? What are your favorites?

This is going to sound incredibly silly.... dumb.... and childish... but I used to love Dragonball Z. I''m talking LOVED the show. There are some anime movies I love... Spirited Away is a big one... and Princess Mononoke... and My Neighbor Totoro. There are others that I can''t remember the names to.

I don''t have cable TV so I don''t see it there.
But I do watch anime and based on anime and manga
movies like Nana on Netfix.

I collect the Ball Jointed Dolls that look like anime characters. Their wardrobes are far larger than mine.

Anyone into Cosplay?

I love anime and the manga. I started with Dragonball and Sailormoon, then moved on to:
Yuu Yuu Hakusho
Saiyuuki
Fushigi Yuigi
Gundam Wing
Rurouni Kenshin
Tenchi Muyo
Yami no Matsuei
and more!
As much as I love cos-play, I am too shy and too old to do it.

Hey Luckyeshe,
I like watching it too. It''s kinda like being a kid with the cartoons but with drama and better story lines. Anyway, I like:
Inuyasha
Full Metal Alchemist
Bleach
Cowboy bebop
Eureka 7
Devil May Cry
I''m sure there''s a ton more I''m not thinking of but those I catch now and then when I can''t sleep. Actually, that''s how I started watching all the others! I couldn''t sleep and I think Inuyasha was airing at like 1:30am on adultswim. Akira I saw years and years ago.

It''s awesome that there are PSers who watch anime too! I am so going to watch some of these that I''ve never seen before.

What is Cosplay?

ha, C another thing we have in common!
Would you believe me if I told you I was *this close* to getting a Tenchi Muyo tattoo when a teen...?

I also had two massive, floor to ceiling banners in my bedroom of Neon Genesis Evangelion characters...man, I loved those posters. Lugged them all the way on the plane back from a family trip to SE Asia..

I know it isn''t Manga, but I adore the films of Miyazaki - such as the most recent one Ponyo, which was adorable. The main character in that film looked and behaved *identically* to my Fi''s little cousin..we couldn''t stop laughing about it the whole time

Yea, geeky me watches it too.

We''ve got Bleach, Naruto Shippuden on the tv queue, although watching the translated stuff usually kills me. There''s a lot of censoring of stuff, because they aim it to a younger audience here vs. Japan. Thank goodness for Hulu.

On Hulu: Slayers, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (which is supposed to be a more faithful adaptation of the manga), Naruto Shippuden (uncut, uncensored), Inuyasha, the Final Chapter.

We have the whole disk set of Ranma 1/2. Pure silliness. Typical Rumiko Takahasi, lots of characters, silly storylines, a story that never ends (like, Inuyasha). But you have to laugh about a boy turns into a girl in cold water, and his father who turns into a big panda when he gets doused with water as well.

I''ve got Fushigi Yuugi, Evangelion (the regular and the remastered platinum...eep!), Gundam Wing, Card Captor Sakura.

Akira was good, Cowboy Bebop was excellent, Code Geass...can''t remember all the ones I''ve seen.
Miyazaki makes good films, but some border on preachy to me (Princess Mononoke).

I''ve got a total geek side...I also pwn noobs on Call of Duty.

Elfin Lied!!! If you haven''t seen this, you must watch it POST HASTE!!!!
It''s fantastic!

I started learning to read and write Japanese so I can read the original manga and doujinshi, plus watch the untranslated anime.

Miyazaki is my favorite, and I own and have seen just about everything he has made. Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away are two big favorites. I love his style.

I was into Sailor Moon as a kid, if that counts, haha. Cowboy Bebop is a huge favorite, I own the series on DVD as well as the movie. (Mushroom Mamba, anyone?) I also watch a lot of Naruto, which is definitely an adult anime in so many ways.

My daughter loves some of those but I know almost nothing... I know she bought a full metal alchemist pocket watch here in China that says, "Don''t forget 3/10" lol And the inyuasha or whatever is one I have heard a bunch... she is not connecting much with the kids here because none of them like manga and she has no one to get excited with.

yes lol my daughter does this constantly - I tell her if only she put the same effort toward learning CHINESE!!!!

I sponsored the high school''s Anime/Manga club when I taught there. I had NO IDEA what I was getting into! I''ve never watched or read any anime or manga, but one of my reading students came to me one day and said "Would you sponsor a club that inspires students to read more?" Of course I said yes, and once we had it up and running I found myself surrounded by students wearing costumes with tails and animal ears!

They were great kids, but the cosplay was a surprise, I''ll admit.

That sounds awesome!

Over the years my husband has introduced me to some great Anime series.

My favourites are;

Initial D - My cat is named Takumi
Yakitate
Naruto

FF is an anime kind of guy. To be honest those darn women bother the living daylights out of me (can you tell I'm insecure? ROFL). He's introduced me to a few surprisingly good ones though:

DeathNote - EVERYONE MUST SEE THIS IMHO

GunSword

Inuyasha - actually used to watch this one on my own before ever meeting FF

Naruto - just started this one
