Not me you silly readers...I know what you were all thinking when you read the title

My first cousin got engaged last week at Kennywood Park in PA! I'm so excited for her. She's been with this guy a long time now (though, not as long as S and I) but they already live together so it only makes sense. I've wondered when he would ask her as he is older than she is. I'm trying to get a photo from my aunt or if my cousin can get a good shot of it. I'd love to see it! My aunt tells me it looks like this (link).

So far I know she is going to do black/yellow for the Steelers (they live in PA) and according to my mom my cousin is going to have 6 bridesmaids. Will I be one of them? I don't know yet but I really want to be one. But its not like I can just come out and ask. Can I?

I will have to wait and see and keep you updated. I'd be a little hurt if I wasn't asked. But she may just ask her friends. I don't know. My aunt has already asked me for opinions however...

The wedding will certainly be interesting as the bride and groom are both deaf. If I'm not a bridesmaid I hope to go to the wedding. She's thinking Aug/Sep 2010. Just thought I'd share in the excitement!

BTW- While I am super excited for her, I was a little sad when I found out. (Yes, there was a tear shed) Guess because I'm a couple years older than her. It's all good though because its her time! My time will come when it comes! Until then, my lil cousin is gettin married!!! Eeeep!

How exciting! Do you know how he proposed?

I worked at Kennywood for 2 summers when I was in college. Where did he propose?

That''s great news for your cousin!! You got me going there, girl!! Anyways, I don''t think it''s necessary bad form if you kinda maybe sorta asked! Maybe you could do feeler questions on your aunt. It''s only bad if you assume you''re a bridesmaid! I had a friend who never made any indication that she would have wanted to be in my bridal party. She asked/offered a month after I only kinda picked my girls, but when one couldn''t do it, I automatically knew who I wanted to take her place and I couldn''t be happier!

Ah. I had to quickly retract my congrats there! Ha ha!

woohoo congrats to her!

and thanks for giving me a heart attack! I was expecting to see pictures of your dream ring!

Congrats to your cousin! It''s always so exciting to have a wedding in the family. I don''t think that it would be impolite to let your cousin know in an indirect, non-presumptive (is that a word?) way that you''d love to be a bridesmaid if she wants you to be, but indicating that you wouldn''t be upset or offended at all if she didn''t include you in the wedding party. Maybe you could ask your mom or dad to tell your cousin''s parents, who could then pass it onto her in a discreet way?

Man Dreamgirl, you are in big trouble with me! I was sooooo excited when I read the title of this thread....and then after 2 seconds of joy, I got the ol'' bait and switch!!!! Now, I am thrilled for your cousin...but you can''t do that kinda stuff to me, I get way to over excited! Shame on you for getting me all giddy!!! Bad dreamgirl, bad!

Not quite. My aunt talks with my mom daily via instant messaging (as my aunt is deaf) but she hasn''t been around much since my cousin got engaged to tell us the whole story. I''m working on getting it because you know.....I need to know how it happened exactly!

That''s awesome! My family has a history with Kennywood. My uncle took part in building that old rollercoaster. I can''t remember the name of it. Family has worked there many years ago as well.

Again, trying to get the story as to how it all went down!

My mom actually asked my aunt who the bridesmaids will be. My aunt named a few of my cousins'' friends but she also said she didn''t know who else because my cousin apparently wants ''thin'' bridesmaids. Horrible I know, right? So my mom said well.....dreamgirl and 2 other cousins are thin...doesn''t she want family to be in the wedding? And my aunt said yes, yes family.

So we will see......

Yeah, I''m really excited about it. But as I said, when I found out I actually cried a little bit. But part of the tears could have been because right before I found out, FF and I finished watching He''s Just Not That Into You so it was strage timing I guess when I found out! lol

As your suggestion goes, my mom did ask my aunt about it. We will have to see what comes of it as my aunt said yes family for the wedding party. If not, then I''ll probably just attend and that''s fine too.

I won''t lie, I was wishing it was you.
That said, I''m happy for your cousin, and I wish her and her FH all the happiness in the world.

I was terrible for doing that wasn't I? I just couldn't help myself. I thought it would be funny (to me) as I haven't been around much lately due to being crazy busy at work. I thought well, I have something to share even though it isn't me......I'll trick them!

That''s sweet of you. I know, I wish it were me too. But the timing is all off. Poor FF still hasn''t found a new job yet. It''s going to be 6 months now with him being out a job....

OH! I just thought of something. S always tells me "I gotta keep you guessing" so I guess I'm just as bad as he is. Guess I'm keeping you all guessing too. But if it makes you feel any better, I'm still guessing myself..
