Original thread here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/avg-ps-ering-stats-anyone-game.138923/

Some notes:
Obviously, these are the results of what the people who participated said, so there a ton of sources of error. But hey, it's all just for fun, right? In the original thread it was brought to my attention that some people would feel bad if they were below the "average" noted here, so my (creative
3.gif
) sort-of-solution is to have all numbers in WHITE text, highlight between the brackets to see it.

Cheers!

Thank you!

Reposting the sizes - don''t think the brackets like being part of regular text instead of code lol

Centrestone Weight (solitaires or multi-stone/halo centrestone ct only):

MEAN: 1.46 STD DEV: 0.827
MEDIAN: 1.23
MODE: 1.5

Thanks yssie!! That must have taken a few hours of your time!

I'm a bit surprised with the average. Although, given the crazy STDEV, I would think the median would be a more appropriate measure.

ETA: Oops, sorry, disregard above comment. I misread the mean to be "0.46" instead of "1.46". That explains things!!

Interesting.

It doesn''t surprise me that the average PS ring is so much larger than the national average. The fact that we hang out here indicates that we love jewelry and, therefore, have a much higher probability that we are willing to spend our money on gems.

I expected the % of halo settings to be much higher than 11%. This makes me want to go over to SMTR and do a little counting. Is the % of halo among new settings higher or is this a constant over the years?

Oh, very cool! I had/have plans for a follow-up thread to gather stats for all the rings posted in the SMTR thread (all bajillion of them!!
32.gif
) but life has been kind of busy lately and it''s quite a project, doing these! Very cool that you did these, and I love the bar charts!

Fab job, yssie!

I pretty much expected the average size of centerstone, to be higher at PS. Not surprised at all.

Thanks for doing that Yssie, for putting it all together. It was fun to see all the stats. :)

Agreed. The national average is much lower. (Unless you ask DF, that is.

Thanks Yssie.

I'm surprised the color curve peaked at G.
I was expecting I.

Size and clarity was about what I expected, well actually size was a little higher than I expected.

I think people with more expensive stones would be more likely to respond than those with less expensive ones, but like you say it's just for fun.
