Hello,

Ive been on the hunt for an online vendor offering the setting my lady likes. I found a great on on allurez.com.

Does anyone have experience with them, engagement ring or diamond purchase specifically? They have what looks like a nice collection of stones to pick from.

Im looking in the 1-1.25 carat range for the main rock. H color, VS2/VS1, Excellent cut, GIA cert.

A few options:

Search filter is on the top, Im not very sure how much things like depth, Fluorescence, or girdle matter to the naked eye?

Any advice is appreciated!

Thank you

And like JA...you have to request the GIA report.

Depth/table/crown and pavilion angles are very important when assessing the cut of a stone! We cant help a whole lot without them.

Is there a setting you like there? Can you link it for us so we can see what it looks like?

The cut is not good on this one.

Here is a range that it helps to stick to

table 54-58
depth 60-62.3
pavilion 40.6 - 41 degrees
crown 34-35 (sometimes 35.5) degrees

lower crown (34) pairs better with higher pavilion (41) and vice versa.

You can run the numbers through the HCA tool. Stones that score 2 or less pass. Close to 2 might work.

Would this work?

This has a try it free option where I think they will send you a sterling silver version to see if you like it or not.

awesome thanks for the info. One more question thats coming up- AGS vs GIA. WF rep is saying AGS is the better one, because of the cut ratings. I read online GIA is best. Any advice?

Looking into possibility of getting the center stone at WF and setting at allurez.

How does this look for the price?
Ran also HCA here, 1.2 on this one. Bigger stone which is nice. But unsure about the AGS vs GIA?

Most Pricescopers would consider AGS better because they do the ray tracing and to determine Light Performance. (I have two AGS000 stones).
Nothing wrong with GIA though. Most Super Ideal Vendors use AGS grading...at least the ones we usually use on Pricescopes.

More info on AGS cut grade here
