I was in New Orleans recently and tried on this ring. I thought it was tourmaline or garnet at first... The SA said it was alexandrite and I immediately wanted to try it on! It was a little larger than my size (ring size 8.5?)... I was looking around for an area to view the color change, but nothing was offered. :( They were asking $36,000. It was a gorgeous ring, but I was not impressed with the color. I do love this style of diamond cluster, though!

I love clusters like that too! My grandmother has a large natural alexandrite, but I am not crazy for it . Kind of medium green and I've never seen it change color.

I have to agree with you. It’s a lovely setting, but the color just isn’t pretty.

It's not a good Alex (if it is an Alex at all which is impossible to tell from your photos). The reason I'm saying that is that it looks very muddy and brown. You definitely do not want that in an Alex. It should be green (or in artificial light that you took your photo in, the colour of my avatar).

@CHRISTY-DANIELLE if your Grandmother's ring doesn't change colour then I'm afraid it's definitely not an Alex. Sorry
