Would the average person looking at a diamond with the naked eye notice the differences between a diamond with ideal specs (i.e. table and depth, ex, ex) and a diamond that shows H&A under a loupe or ideal scope? I have bought a diamond with a GIA report that matches AGS ideal standards. I''m kind of second guessing myself on not getting a H&A. Thanks

stujin,
i think you are slowly running out of things to second guess yourself on!

lighting lighting lighting.
Under most lighting conditions no.
Under some conditions yes.
Could a non-h&a diamond look better than a h&a.. yep in some light conditions and to some people.
Sounds like you made your pick so kick back and enjoy it :}

I second strmrdr - you made the pick - enjoy it now - for some special reason that stone was talking to you, so embrace your decison - it''s hard not to believe your intuition and/or eyes!

nice job

I know I know I know. I''m crazy I tell you. Thanks again to everyone for the clarification...I didn''t think I could tell the difference but I wanted you all''s much more educated opinions as well. I''m crazy...I''m stopping now...I promise. I''ll post pics soon...I promise. Thanks again!

I think both are lovely and that you should enjoy what you have. Now about those pics....
How are you having it set?

Ten bucks says your ideal stone DOES show arrows. I couldn't care less if the little arrows aren't absolutely perfect. You'll never tell the difference. I will go ahead and say it- to a *certain* extent, the perfect H&A is nothing but marketing! My opinion only. I don't expect people marketing the H&A to agree

To each his own. I bet you made a great choice and saved some money!
