The only way to know is to compare an actual ASET of the same diamond yes to look for broken arrows in the same place etc.Date: 11/13/2009 11:33:00 PM

are they of the same diamond?
basically i''m curious to see if it is a glitch, which is possible, but you need two different ASETs to tell. it''s also entirely possible for the diamond to be cut that way... did it grade high in the AGS cut scale?
also, isn''t the ASET on the AGS report not a scan of the diamond, but rather a computer generated image?

Colour difference won''t affect ASET. We can see from both images that in this case it is a glitch with the computer generated ASET as all the arrow shafts are intact on the actual ASET.Date: 11/15/2009 12:36:51 AM

Its probably the lighting or photography set up, also smaller images sometimes do look darker to me.Date: 11/15/2009 6:13:52 AM

Thanks Lorelei
My vendor email me another ASET image of the similar which is clearer & brighter.
I wonder why the previous ASET seems darker.

Thanks SD, looks like you got your answer. As long as the real ASET looks good, you don''t need to pay much attention to the computer-generated one.

So now that we''ve confirmed it''s a glitch, can anyone answer SD''s original question... how/why does this happens? It seems like they''re pretty severe glitches, so I''m particularly interested in learning what went wrong as well...
I think a member of AGS reads here on occasion but it would be best to contact www.agslabs.com directly and ask them.Date: 11/17/2009 7:58:03 AM

Yup, I''m still hoping someone from AGS can see this & explain these ASET glitches.
Thanks for that Todd!Date: 11/17/2009 2:13:08 PM

I asked Peter Yantzer, Director of the AGS Laboratory and the short answer is that, for some proportion sets, the ‘arrows’ draw light very close to the 75 degree boundary of blue to red in the ASET.
The long answer is well, a really long answer...
But suffice to say, when in doubt, refer to an actual view of the diamond as seen through an ASET scope.
