Cliff’s Notes: Could you please help me find a 1 carat, F or better, VS2 or better, ideal cut round, diamond that shines white/blue light the most (brilliance), and sparkles

The detailed version:

I wanted to first say thank you to all who make this forum possible, and thank you for responding in my previous posts. The time you take to respond to threads is greatly appreciated.

My original plan was to research on how to choose a round brilliant and then to pick one and have the knowledgeable feedback on here to confirm my pick. However, the more the research I did, I realized this is extremely complicated. First it was the 4C’s, then the different online vendors, then the different %’s & angles, then all the acronyms ASET, HCA, IS, GemEX, etc. Furthermore, a finely cut diamond may not sparkle as well as the specs state. I feel overwhelmed

and need help. I thought to myself, if I were to choose a diamond myself, I would be eliminating many other diamonds that may be superior to the one I chose. With that said, I would like to ask for the help of the community to suggest a diamond for me.

I would like to look for:

1.02-1.15 carat
round brilliant
AGS/GIA
“F” or better color
“VS2” or better with any inclusions away from the center if possible
Ideal cut (traditional # of facets rather than a “LEO/Jared”)
Great HCA/ASET/IS
Reflects white/brilliance/brightness the most
Reflects red/orange/fire color the least
And of course sparkles like crazy
Budget $8,500 max (online vendors like JA, WF, GOG, Excel are good)

I am going with a JA setting , so will have to ship to them to mount (unless the diamond is from JA, which may be more convenient)

She wants a diamond that “sparkles and shines white/blue that looks clean with the naked eye.” We’ve been to Mayor’s, Tiffany’s, Jared’s, and Ideal Diamond Center to look so far, but prefer online for the savings and selection.

Please let me know if I left out any details.

Finally here are 2 examples suggested earlier by Lorelei from an earlier post of mine on brilliance, but other suggestions would be great
“No fluorescence but this is a well proportioned diamond as an example which might be along the lines of what you are looking for.

Need the report for this one but it has potential

Big thanks!!!

Extremely difficult to differentiate sparkle vs brilliance vs fire on Ideal cut stones. I recommend giving up on this.
Different cuts perform differently. Ie an Eight Star is a traditional cut which has piainted girdles to maximise fire. Nothing will out perform an Eightstar in a romantically lit restaurant when it comes to broadflash and fire.
A Solasfera diamond has more facets but is tailored for light return and will outperform a traditional cut diamond here.

So, if you are set on a traditional 57 facet diamond, I wouldn''t stress too much about differentiating fire and brilliance.
Also, I think a VS2 stone is great for value for money and see no point paying for an included stone where you can''t tell the difference.

The second diamond there is pretty rubbish. Not sure why you are looking at it.

What is wrong with the JA stone?

Very good cut grade.

The IS will probably be just as good. Unless he wants a H&A.

THe GOG stone costs more, but your ability to see the difference and personal preference may not be there to justify the price - only you can say.

The JA stone is slightly shallow and if your lady has a large coffuire of dark hair and can focus easily from 8 inches (20cm) or less, it will go a little dark because her head will obscure a lot of light sources. That said, I find many people prefer the look of the JA stone proportions when I show them side by side comparisons in different lighting.

Yes, shallow diamonds can be very cool!

The ones TYTY posted are all very nice.

And LOL at Garry and the coiffure!

LOL re the coiffure!

Thank you for all the feedback. I''m going to look and try and narrow it down to like 3 and ask for your help one last time. Oh and nice word "coffuire"
