Hi everyone,

Been reading the PS forums with much interest, as I''m in the middle of selecting a stone for my gf''s e-ring. I''m hoping to get advice from the experts (Lorelei, Karl, and anyone else who''s willing to share their thoughts) on which of these three stones I should pick:

1. http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/Whiteflash-ACA-cut-diamond-2192337.htm
1.155 ct, E SI1 40.7 pav 34.8 crn, 6.72-6.73x4.15 HCA 1.2-EX (ex-ex-ex-vg) $6703/ct

2. http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/E-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1255552.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131
1.13 ct E SI1 40.8 pav 34.6 crn, 6.69-6.78x4.13 HCA 1.1-EX (ex-ex-ex-vg) $6133/ct

3. http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/Whiteflash-ACA-cut-diamond-2192333.htm
1.07 ct, F VS2 40.7 pav 34.7 crn, 6.57-6.58x4.03 HCA 1.2-EX (ex-ex-vg-vg) $7590/ct

The stats on #2 looks great (from what I''ve read on PS) however the quality of the IdealScope isn''t that great, so it''s harder for me to tell the quality of the cut. I''ve asked for other things like the ASET. For #1, I''m not sure of the defect in the center of the stone will be visible from the naked eye. My gf''s priority has been on the cut, less on size.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
David

#2 IS and Hearts images are good.

Ask if both SI stones are eye-clean with the respective vendor.

Hi David

I will take a look for you,

they all look good, number 2 is fine also, JA only supply Idealscope for round diamonds so I wouldn't worry about ASET for this one. There is a grade making cloud noted for this diamond, ask for JA's gemologist to check this for you to make sure the cloud isn't impacting performance.

If an upgrade might ever be a possibility both vendors offer an upgrade program but the terms of each differ so if this might be a future consideration then you might want to read the terms and conditions of each carefully.

Find out which diamonds are eyeclean to your standards by asking the respective vendors as the next step.

Many thanks Stone-cold11 and Lorelei! Will find out if both SI1''s are eyeclean and will also read further about the upgrade programs.

Thanks again!!
David
