Advice on these four stones

Hi guys~

I have been doing researching lately, and try to find a perfect stone for my engagement ring. After doing some homework, I narrow down my choices to 1.85-2.25 carats, H-J color, VS1-VS2, AGS Ideal, H&A diamonds.
Here are some stones that call my attention, and I want to share with you guys and hopefully someone can give me comments on them.

Brian Gavin 2.091ct J VS2 Price: $18,710

Brain Gavin 2.130ct J VS2 Price: $19,065
https://www.briangavindiamonds.com/...ls/2.130-j-vs2-round-diamond-ags-104107085023

Whiteflash 2.131ct J VS1 Price: $18,212

B2CJewels 2.05ct J VS1 Price: $15,434
https://www.b2cjewels.com/dd/118465...m_medium=referral&utm_campaign=pricescope.com

I want to go with the Brain Gavin tapered style tiffany setting.

Besides, I'm also concerned that J color is way to yellow in reality. Does anyone own a 2ct J color diamond who can share some thoughts on that? I have noticed that 1.8-1.9 ct does look kind of like 2ct diamond if there is a diamond that has better color but smaller, will it be a good choice?

Thanks everyone, and have a sparkling day;))

I think you've chosen some great stones! At this point, I think the best way to decide is by company (e.g. who do you feel comfortable buying from), and where you're going to get the setting.
Since you are set on a brian gavin setting, I would probably go with a stone from them to avoid dealing with having a loose stone set, making sure its insured, etc.

Unfortunately, BGD doesn't have the best upgrade policy (you have to upgrade on 2 dimensions of carat/color/clarity), which can get expensive for bigger stones and/or stones with good clarity. WF, on the other hand, has a $1 upgrade policy. I would pretty much always go with them (or high performance diamonds) when talking about a sizable amount of money due to the upgrade policy. WF also has a pretty great set of tiffany style settings, and can customize them to your needs if you want something specific. I bet they have stock settings that would work too.

Part of me wants to recommend the B2C stone because it's amazing and the cheapest one (because it's not a branded super ideal even though it's an AGS000), but I still think that 15K is a huge chunk of money and you don't want to be stuck and unable to upgrade if you decide to in the future.

In terms of color, I've seen lots of J color from HPD and WF and think they look quite white. But then again, I'm not color sensitive so it doesn't bother me at all. But you can ask WF to pull and take pics/videos of the J you are considering vs a similar sized H/I color and see what you think. WF is great about helping people make decisions between stones.

I have a smaller J super ideal (1.14) and I do see the color in it. I'm not color sensitive so its less of a concern to me. If you have color concerns, I would
drop the weight a little and up the color to an I.

I like the idea of having Whiteflash compare the J and I and give you their thought and send you pictures/videos. They will give you their honest opinion.
I think it’s really important to consider the upgrade policy even if you think you won’t use it. It’s like extra insurance or security. You may decide to upgrade color later.
Just throwing the below one into the mix if you are willing to consider an SI2. HPD states that all its stones are eyeclean.

I own a 2.17 J CBI from HPD and it is very white face up and even the side on view I see no colour. NOT at all yellow.

Good luck :wavey:

PS. have them compare the J/VS1 to this one: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4146198.htm if you are worried about color. This one will look just like a 2ct stone (.06 of a ct is super super tiny).

This is a beautiful stone, I will definitely ask Whiteflash to compare it with the 2.13 one.
I watched some Good Old Gold videos on youtube, and I think J color is a little too yellow against a white backdrop. Besides, I have never tried on a J color before, so I'm a little bit concerned about it. But, I am not a color-sensitive person at all, I guess it won't be too much a problem for me.

I also checked out the upgrade policies on B2Cjewels, they give an online credit of the original cost minus 20% restocking fees. Does WF work the same way?

Nope, that's why we recommend Whiteflash and HPD above all other vendors. Both have a $1 upgrade policy. It's the best in the buisiness, no one else comes close.

Personally, if you are questioning the J color, I would say don’t go there. I would say don’t go below H. (With that said, I’m sure if lovedogs and I went for cocktails she’d get me to agree to I color lol!!!)
Seriously though, I say listen to your inner concern/doubt/hesitation.

I have a J ACA and it is white enough for me (admittedly not color sensitive and I really like size!) I really only see color in photos.

I have WF to take more photos and videos about the diamond I select, and the one that's suggested by lovedog~

Here is the video

I think I like the bigger one better since I can't really tell the color difference and I am size 6-6 1/2~

To clarify for the OP, Whiteflash and HPD do not charge a restocking fee. You simply have to spend $1 more than the price of your original purchase, and they give you full credit for the exchange. It really is awesome. But, I bought from B2C Jewels and had an awesome experience and love my diamond. If I ever decide to upgrade, it will cost me.

I just wanted to point out that GOG also has this policy (I just used it), not that it is directly relevant in this case.
