Hello.... Ok, here is my first serious stone consideration:

It gets a 0.6 in the Holloway Cut Advisor

Is there anything I should be concerned about with this stone? It uses an EGL Cert.

0.78 ct
VS 2
G
Round
6.01 x 5.99 x 3.61
Depth: 60.1%
Table: 55%
Crown: 15%
Pav: 43%
Girdle: Medium
Finish: Excellent

Thoguhts? The price is around $2800

It sounds decent, but to be certain you may want to try to get crown and pavilion angles as opposed to percentages, because they are more precise. If the score is still that good, then great! Before purchasing, you may want to do a search here on EGL -there seem to be some reservations about how strict of a grading lab this is. You can either have the color and clarity confirmed by an independent appraiser (make the sale contingent on a satisfactory appraisal), or you may decide that it's still a good price, even if the stone is actually H SI1...

duffdouglas,
about 5 months ago i bought a G vs2 .72 ct with egl usa cert. and they grade it ideal cut, based on their standard.what egl call ideal cut is no where near the quality that's frequently discussed here on P.S. i can easily tell by the performance of this stone vs. other top ideal cuts. since i planned to use it for earrings, i didn't really care, even though it was an egl stone. i paid $1900 for it. if you want really nice stones, correctly graded, try to stay with ags or gia certs.
