Hi all,

I am a new on this forum and would like to buy an engagement ring. As there are so many choices, I think I will need some help. Found two diamonds and could not decide which one is more value for your money and better choice?
0.43 has a better quality, but the other one is closer to 1/2 ct. Is it worth to give in some quality and go 0.03 bigger?

I like that .43. Whatever you get, an excellent cut will really make the stone beautiful. My daughter has a bezel-set 0.33 ideal - it has plenty of punch.

For your information, there are sometimes high quality stones sold on eBay...

Not sure how much of a deal it is - I didn't do the research - but just making you aware that there are some interesting diamonds on Ebay.

At this price point, size is very important. IF clarity is not.

Check out this stone.

It gets you to .6ct while still appearing very white and eye-clean. It has also been vetted by an expert, so you know you're getting top quality.

This is the same price as your other stones (after Pricescope discount), but will look considerably larger.

Best of luck!

Ditto...drop the color and go for a little more size!

I would even drop to a j for me personally.

IF clarity is a complete waste of money. Unless there are cultural reasons for the high color and clarity (in many asian countries anything lower than F VS1 will be completely unappreciated).

You won't be able to tell an IF clarity stone from and eyeclean VS or SI stone.

Drop the clarity , and go up in size. Size, especially in the carat range you are looking at, will be VERY noticeable. Even a 10 or 15 point jump will make a big difference .

And H color will still be very white. I'd personally look at H-I Si stones.

Hi thank you for your advices. I actually go for a bigger one now. And stuck with my choice between the four listed below:

B is bigger, but A (first one) has better specs. eg. clarity, polish and symmetry. The bigger one costs 200 dollar more and actually not that much bigger. 4.98 x 4.96 x 3.07 mm vs 5.08 x 5.06 x 3.14 mm.
