Hello everyone!

I''m a new member on here, but I''ve been a lurker for probably close to a year now. I''ve been dating my gf for over 5 years now and I''ve been waiting for the right moment to pop the big question. Well, the opportunity has just popped up, giving me only a couple weeks to get a ring before I ask the question. Luckily I''ve been doing a TON of research over the past 6 months or so in anticipation of this, so not all is lost. I actually visited quite a few brick and mortar stores a few months back with intention of buying a ring, but couldn''t find a diamond or setting in my price range that really wowed me. I eventually started doing a lot more browsing online at some trusted retailers in search of a good diamond and/or setting. My price range is around 3K, so not enough for anything too fancy. ANYWAY, to make a long story short, I finally found a diamond that I like and I was hoping to get some honest opinions. For now I was also thinking of going with a simple, 14K white gold solitaire setting for the sake of my budget. Here''s the diamond:

and just for the heck of it, here''s the setting that I''m considering:

I know the setting isn''t anything special, but as a college student I have a fairly limited budget. I''d rather pay a bit more for the stone to sacrifice a bit on the setting.

The only thing that turns me off about the diamond are the two small imperfections. However, I doubt they''ll be visible to the naked eye. Is there anything else I should be worried about with the diamond? Thanks in advance for the honest opinions and help. This forum has already helped me more than I can express.

Whoops. Sorry about the messed up links. Noobie mistake.

Also, thanks for the reply. It''s nice to have another (more experienced) opinion.

Thritto. Looks good to me.
