Looking for some advice as my knowledge of diamonds is virtually zero!
I have bought an engagement ring from Rox which is .40 carat, colour F and has slight inclusions. The band that the stone was initially set in wasn't to my liking so they offered to change it over for me which would take 2 weeks. Today I received a call to advise that there was another diamond already set in the band that I liked but was slightly different. This one was .43 carat, g colour and very slight inclusions. Apparently it is actually more expensive but they would give it to me at no extra cost.
I always get slightly paranoid when a business offers you a seemingly free upgrade for no reason! So could anyone out there tell me if they think this seems like a good deal. Is the drop in colour compensated by the increase in carat and clarity. I realise you might need some more info but this is all I've got at the moment. Oh the band is platinum and its princess cut if it makes any difference.
