Hello folks! :wavey:

I have a friend who would like to upgrade, but is confused as to which ACA stone to go for. She currently has a J’s with Fluoro (ES) but neither of these have it. The 2.72 is considered a higher J than the 2.65.

She is international and so it won’t be easy for her to return the stone, hence it would be great to have some feedback/advice on to which stone would be better?

Thanks a lot!

I would prefer the higher J, so the 2.72. She really can’t go wrong.

Tough call. Two great choices.

Putting carat weight aside, both stones are nearly identical in dimensional size. I do like the VS2 clarity and inclusion plot of the 2.653ct better. Also, I normally prefer a steeper crown like you get with the 34.6/40.7 combo on the 2.725ct; however, the 34.2/40.7 angle combo combined with the better clarity on the smaller 2.653ct seems to produce a more lively stone in the videos (at least to me).

To me, the only downside is the potential color issue. I am not sure how sensitive, or tolerant, of color your friend is but I think it would be worth a call to WF and ask them to pull both stones and shoot videos and pictures of both stones side by side under different lighting conditions. Then your friend can make an assessment about where she stands with the color.

Assuming the 2.653 is okay color wise, I would likely choose it. If not, then I'd go with the 2.725ct.

Ask WF to make you a video with both stones side by side at natural daylight and decide by yourself! "Higher J" could be subjective.
I personally wouldn't go under VS2 clarity.

Thank you all for the feedback :)

Both beautiful choices but I'd be inclined to go with the higher J 2.72 - however, I agree with others in that you should ask WF for a video in different lighting environments to see the color.

I also really like the 2.5 I @SimoneDi just posted! She'd have an easier time with the color if she doesn't mind giving up ~.25mm in size. She can always upgrade to larger in the future :Up_to_something:

Thank you all for the suggestion. She currently has a 2.23, 8.40mm. So she is looking to go up significantly. Closer to 8.9-9mm.

Based on the OP's last response I k ow it doesn't work, but great find @SimoneDi! Despite being slightly smaller that one rocks!
