Hey there,

I've been looking for a 3/4 carat round diamond to put in a band I've purchased from Jared. I'm looking to stay around the $2500 range. I've found several, but the one I keep coming back to is a .75c, I color, VVS2 clarity, excellent cut, excellent polish/symmetry, 60.5 depth, 58 table, 33 crown, 41.0 pavilion, no culet, medium fluorescence, medium girdle. It is priced around $2,460. I haven't seen the ASET/Ideal-scope reports yet, or the GIA report, but it is GIA rated and the report will be sent to me soon. Does this sound like a solid diamond for my budget? I believe the HCA ranking was .8. It listed everything excellent except for spread, which was very good.

Thanks in advance,

Stephen

Sounds like it has potential. Need IS/ pics tho.

Just personally. On a diamond that size I'd probably go down two clarity grades and up a couple colours. Simply preference tho. Should be no problem finding eye clean .75 stone in vs2.

The diamond is being sold by Mark at Engagement Rings Direct. I've read good reviews on his company and he seems to carry quality diamonds. He is sending me the GIA report but told me his camera is broken so he can't get an Ideal Scope. I've never bought diamonds online so I'm just wanting to make sure my purchase is a safe one!

What is the stores return policy? Where are you located? The guys here can really tell you how the stone will perform when you get an IS and/or ASET image.

You should get an eye clean VS2 or SI1 and get larger size or higher colour in the same size

There is the GIA report for the original diamond I posted. It doesn't seem like I can go up much in size OR color for the same price ($2500).

This one is "very good cut" but seems to have good proportions. http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-4295421-0.78-carat-Round-diamond-I-color-VS2-Clarity.aspx?sku=4295421&utm_source=pricescope.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=pricescope.com

Help! :)

The store has a 30 day return policy but from what i'm reading, they charge $250 for any returns.

What about this one?

Nice thing is you can get them to put it on hold. Request an ideal scope/ASET images and post them here for people to critique.

This is a 60/60 stone so it should have lots of brilliance.

Not trying to deter you from the different vendors your looking at. But you can get a good look at this diamond via the video. Also it's an SI1 with only "feather" listed as inclusion. Of course check with JA about the location etc, but could be a good find.
