Hi guys,

I just wanted your advice on if this is a good price/diamond (details below). I can post a link to the GIA report on the GIA site if that's allowed and ok to do, if that helps?

What does 'Minor details of polish are not shown.' mean - is that anything to worry about? I've only seen that written on IF reports.

Thanks in advance for any adivce/help :)

Minor details of polish is the reason why it is IF and not FL.

The proportions are not good on this one. Pavilion angle is too deep.

Thanks for the reply. What result does the pavilion angle being too deep have?

For comparison purposes:

This stone is less money, considerably larger, close in color, possesses a better cut, and is equally eye-clean (verified) to the stone you had linked -

1.88ct, I, SI1

Any reason why you are going for IF ? None of my business but one of the first things I learned here is that you can go way down in clarity (and therefore price) by looking at VS1,2 or even SI1 and some SI2 without affecting light performance and most importantly without being able to see the inclusions with the naked eye.

I just looked on a standard diamond search and it seemed this one had the lowest ct/price ratio when listing VS1->IF colour H. Logically it made sense to just go for the IF over the rest since it was bigger and cheaper.

Of course you don't get something for nothing - which is why I was asking here about it. I've been googling and I see that the 'excellent' cut grade on the GIA cert isn't much to go on compared to an AGS cert. I'm running a few candidates through the HCA tool now to see what I can find that's better :)

Hmm is it worth the extra to switch to this?

Opinions? I've checked for VVS1/VVS2 and they're not much cheaper, until you get to VS1/VS2. For the personal knowledge of know it's a 'flawless' stone on her finger i'd prefer to just go with an IF. I'm not entirely comfortable buying a VS1/VS2 or below online without seeing it.

Advice on this diamond please :)
