OK, here''s a question about 2 radiants in the running, and I need some professional opinions (which is why I came here!)

#1-
2.01ct
F
SI1 (eyeclean)
Depth 60%
Table 67%
7.72x7.33
$14,000

#2
1.7ct
E
SI1 (also eyeclean)
Depth 65%
Table 65%
7.03mm x 6.9mm
$9,000
BUT has medium blue floro and a "extremely thin to sl. thick girdle"

So what does the professional world of diamond lovers think?
Too expensive? What about the floro on the last stone? and the girdle?
Of course I had to fall in love with a stone cut that is next to impossible to find! Why IS it so difficult to find great radiants????

Thanks, from one diamond obessive-compulsive person to a whole bunch of others!!!!

Let me begin by admonishign myself...
"I know nothing."

That dramatic variation in girdle thickness is no good. Unless by some wierd fluke it "works", it cannot be good for the sparke from a geometric point of view.

Anyone have any opinions? I know there are some die-hard radiant fans out there.......

THANKS!

Can you get the crown info on the first? That table is a lot higher than the depth...not necessarily a bad thing...but the only way to know is to get the crown info....I'm not a big fan of Xthin to X thick....but the 65 65 does look good....

You should PM Nicrez and see what she has to say. Her ring is GORGEOUS!!!

Medium fluorescence would hvae the gretaest impact on... price. I would be extremely surprised if you find it noticeable and unpleasant.

The girdle of a radiant would not usually be of "constant" width as it can be expected from round diamonds - simply because the outlne of the stone turns corners. It does make a difference what exactly that girdle looks like - is it mostly "very thin", is it too thin at the corners to set? Or what ? If the stone is really nice in every other way, the girdle "thing" does deserve inspection. After all, it is not all that easy to locate a no-excuse brilliant radiant cut

And going by numbers alone doesn not seem as the safest way to do this either - there is basically no reliable rule to predict a radiant's brilliance by numbers - some direct test on the stone supplies such info

On the other hand - both these are nearly square pieces - is this what you want ?
