Has anyone viewed both the ACA Princess and the X-Factor IRL... how did they compare? Do the X-Factors face up larger due to the clipped corners? I would prefer the clipped corners, but not if the ACA is significantly more beautiful the the XF. It seems that here at PS the ACA is preferred... does it tend to have better brilliance, fire and scintillation? Though, it seems that those who have purchased either are very happy with their diamonds.

I am still trying to decide on a center stone for my ring... I keep flip-flopping around...

...not fun... I want to make that decision so I can make the other decisions regarding the ring, so your opinions/advice/comments will be greatly appreciated.

Is there some type of chart or list that rates the tendencies of the square-ish stones in relation to each other? Like which tends to face up larger, which tends to have more fire, etc.? My brain has reached maximum capacity right now with all this reading and learning

... I need a k.i.s.s. chart/list at this point

I find the X-factor more beautiful than ACA princess, but I'm biased! I believe a jubilee faces up bigger than any of the other stones you've listed and it has a pattern similar to H&A. It's a totally different look though. If you like the big flashes you get from a RB, go for the squares wif H&A patterns (square H&A, Jubilee) in them. If you like the tiny multiple flashes that you get from a princess, go for either a princess or an X-factor.

I definitely like clipped corner stones better than square, so I''d much rather have an x-factor, personally!

I haven''t seen both in real life, but I considered a lot of cut-cornered stones before I finally decided on an ACA Princess. What really made my decision was that the setting I was customizing wouldn''t look good with a clipped stone. The squareness of my setting was one of the things I really liked about it...the prongs appear to just graze the corners of the stone, giving it a really delicate look. I am very satisfied with my ACA, although every now and then I wish I had chosen another stone just to be "different." Princesses are all over the place, but who else do you know in real life who has a Lucere or Flanders, for example?

Anyway, the short answer is that the X-factor and ACA will both be gorgeous stones that have passed WF''s highest standards for light performance, so it comes down to the following:
1) Can the setting you want fit an X-factor? Sometimes they have issues with stock settings for princesses.
2) Are you accident-prone? If you bang your hand around a lot, an X-factor may be the better choice.
3) Do you prefer a more traditional or more unique/novel look? If you want to be the only girl in town with a particular ring, get the X-factor.
4) How much does size matter to you? An X-factor should face up slightly larger than a princess of the same carat weight, but the difference isn''t huge and may not actually be visually significant.

WF didn't have the x-factor or ACA princess when hubby and I went ring shopping 2 years ago, but I was lucky enough to be able to go to Houston and see what WF had in stock in person. It was blingtastic!

I really like the look of my princess but will certainly consider an x-factor for my upgrade.

They're both lovely choices, and you really cannot go wrong with either one. It really depends on the setting.

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the info... it's helping!

1. I haven't decided on a setting yet... I cannot find one that is exactly what I want. I am considering doing a custom setting.
2.Accident prone? Ummm... I'm blonde, need I say more? Walls and doors and that dang bathroom cabinet are not my friends!

3. Def want something unique.
4. Cut is my priority over size. Sure, I would like the biggest stone I can get within my fi's budget, but not by choosing a crappy diamond... we both want quality over size yet not something tiny and not going to an unnecessary clarity/color (as long as it's eyeclean and above I in color, I'm kewl with it).

It sounds like the princess cut might not be the cut for me. One down... how many more to go?!

How would an X-Factor (or similar clipped corner square) look as a center with Asschers as sides? I love the Asscher so much and really want it in my ring somehow, but with the needed clarity and size for it as a center, I think it would be best to use them as sides or set in the band (hence my search for other square cuts).
