One is very sentimental that I had lost/misplaced since February 2020 before the start of the Covid pandemic; and the other was its replacement.

The bigger one was purchased while I was on holiday in Athens with my late partner in 2006.

We went shopping and popped into a jewellery store looking for a small silver pendant to add to my travel charm bracelet.

I spotted a Greek key bracelet, and asked to view it.

The delightful Greek lady owner of the shop went into details on the piece, that it was a copy of a bracelet designed by Versace famed for its use of Greek symbols in its collections (it still has fashion jewellery pieces with Greek key symbols). She showed me the alleged genuine Versace piece and told me how much it would cost etc.; and placed it next to the copy which was made with "Russian stones" which I interpreted as lab stones at the time; made with Rhodium-plated Silver.

The copy looked better than the alleged original for certain, and my late partner bought it for me as a present.

It was a treasured piece for dressier events until I misplaced it after wearing it for a work trip in February 2020 before the start of the Covid pandemic.

I did not believe I had lost it completely, just misplaced somewhere in the house, and was upset by it as it was a memento of that lovely trip in Athens with my late partner who died in November 2008 from a canal boat related accident. We had a great time in Athens.

I decided to have a replacement made in 2022, However, the cost of having a like for like piece made even in 9K White Gold was too much as deep down, I was kind of confident that the original could be found eventually. So I compromised in the size and opted for a narrower and shorter sections with paved diamonds instead.

Fast forward to a couple of days ago. I needed to find my Jade pieces to take photos, and decided to sort out 3 drawers of my dressing table where I would store jewellery related items.

I hit the jackpot with the first one when I found the little plastic bag containing the original Greek key bracelet, together with my 10mm Tahitian studs from Pearl Paradise, various 6mm studs for my 1cttw diamond earring jackets, 12mm 14K White Gold button studs and other cheapo button pearl studs.

Together, they were packed as part of my luggage when I was working away from home. I must have put them in that drawer by mistake after the February 2020 trip as I do not put pieces I wear regularly in that drawer.

I was ecstatic when I found that bag I nearly cried as the bracelet has huge sentimental value, and the 10mm Tahitian studs would be quite costly to replace nowadays.

So here they are, my original Greek key bracelet with ? lab stones in Rhodium-plated Silver at the top, and its smaller replacement in 9K White Gold with natural diamonds.

I just need to find my 9mm White Topaz that Jeff W had cut for me - the second stone he cut for me back all the way back in 2015!

What a story! I'm so glad you found it and reading your post it felt like you found a missing piece of your heart. You must have been comforted and overjoyed to find it. But now you have two bracelets which are a pair! One for you and one for your late partner. Maybe it was always meant to be a pair. Also your other items that you found must have felt new again too. I'm so happy for you DK.

This is just the best! You're a great storyteller, and I loved reading your tale of two bracelets! They're both super pretty, and what incredible meaning behind them.

Thank you all for your kind words!

Finding the original Greek key bracelet was emotional, as it brought back lots of happy memories of our trip in Athens.

We only had 4 years together as a couple before his untimely death, so every happy memory is precious.

The 9mm round white Topaz cut by Jeff W has been found, PHEW!!!

It is with the bench that I use in London.

I left it with them with the intention for it to be set into a bail that can take different pearl drops as long as a couple of years ago!!!
