A selection of colored gems

I don't typically ever post in SMTR because most of the rings displayed are diamonds. I post 99% of the time in the ColoredStone forum, but I thought I'd finally post some of colored gems here.

First shot - on ring finger

4 carat mandarin orange spesspartite pear garnet (either Nigerian or Namibian - not 100% positive)
Above that is a 2.8 carat Tanzanian green grossular trillion garnet
Middle finger is 1.1 carat Nigerian rubellite tourmaline in LOGR
Pointer finger is an 8.3 mm (around 2.8 carats) Mozambique copper bearing blue green tourmaline in a custom sized 18K Yellow gold LOGR.

These shots were taken on an overcast day with a little bit of sun peaking through.

DT, I am probably going to get a new setting for the spessertite. I hate the setting it is in now. It doesn''t showcase the orange color that well. I''m going to do a white gold double halo probably.

DT, I am probably going to get a new setting for the spessertite. I hate the setting it is in now. It doesn't showcase the orange color that well. I'm going to do a white gold double halo probably.

TL, what is it about the current setting that you don't like? Is it the yellow gold or the style? Just curious because I see you'll be switching to white gold.

The style (ick - early 1990''s, not my taste anymore).
The prongs are eating the pavillion of the stone and the cutlet is closed off (it''s a deep stone) and I can''t find a prong head to fit it. It''s losing sparkle and a bit of color that way.
The yellow gold - the orange is so "orange" on that stone that I think it would pop even more against white gold.

I''d eat the pavillion too, that stone looks tasty!! Such a yummy orange.

I love it in the yellow gold, but I think it would also look beautiful in white gold. Can''t wait to see your reset!
