A sapphire reset

I bought this sapphire from Making the grade and she had it originally set in a silver bezel. It's such a gorgeous sapphire cut by Barry! I had my jeweler set it in a low setting half bezel in a soft looking 10k yellow gold.

I’m so glad! In 10 years I’ve maybe seen Barry cut less than 10 sapphires. That’s why I was hoarding it! But it was time to let it go and let someone actually wear and enjoy it. I love love love his supernova cuts

I had always meant for the silver stacked setting to be a temp until I figured out plans but I never reset it. Too many rings! I love the new setting though. Classic.

I must really like your style (making the grade), I bought both of those rings. There is something sleek and clean about a bezel solitaire. Easy to wear too. I like low profile, with an opening on the bottom for cleaning. My latest craze is a half bezel.

Does your jeweler hand forge the half bezels? I really like the side detailing

Yes, I pick out all the parts and he puts them together. So I choose the bezel as a full bezel and he cuts it down. The detail dictated which way the cutouts were orientated.

Interesting. I might try that some time. My jeweler hand makes the hand gal bezels which gives it a more organic less polished feel. Which I liked for the emerald, but might want to avoid for a ring I want to look sleeker and more finished.
