I had to replace an Emerald cut diamond wedding ring I lost in May, and this time I was much more involved in the selection. I loved the clean lines and icy clarity of my emerald, but decided an asscher cut would have that PLUS some zingy bling. I am so dang excited. I have to share! I'll have it Wednesday!
This ring is 1.92 carat, G color, VS1. The setting is 24 channel set square cut diamonds, also G color and VS1, in platinum with a double claw prong.

Thanks to all of you for the nice compliments. I needed them because my husband's reaction was "Nice...I'm sure it's beautiful in person..." while I am positively giddy.

I was so upset about my original ring and spent a few months looking for it because I'm quite sure my now 2 year old stashed it somewhere in my house. We had a plumber check traps, a contractor come in with a camera to check our ducts, cleaning service turned everything else upside down ;(

I got the diamond thru Denny Reinke of Diamond Source of Virginia. The setting is a takeoff on one of James Allen's that I fell in love with. I ordered it from them, giving the specs of the center stone, and when it arrived, (weeks after it was supposed to) it was wrong wrong wrong. The basket was huge and for a cushion or princess and the two jewelers I took it to said they'd have to completely redo it. Plus...one of the channel set diamonds was loose! Anyway, we sent it back to JA and it was resolved but it's been a process. We had the 2nd jeweler, Gemological Trading / Seattle Diamonds recreate it and do it right. They used better matched sidestones too. I have yet to see the finished product so I'm nervous but I'm sure I will love it.

Here are a couple more pictures and I'll post some hand pics in a few days. Thank you all for letting me share and for the valuable advice I gleaned while lurking during the last few months :rodent:
