I''m running in a half marathon Sunday, in preparation for the FULL MARATHON in 14 weeks. I have been wobbling around w/ a bad case of bursitis (rt knee), and plantar fasciaiitis (rt foot). If you could spare just a pinch of dust that I will finish w/o worsening these injuries, and gasp DO WELL, I''d really appreciate it!

Thanks so much, for even the eensiest bit of love you can throw my way!

I wish I had the body of a beach runner! I just have the legs of a beach BUM! Complete with the winter fur... is that TMI?

*dust dust dust*

Congratulations on your accomplishments thus far!!

Thanks Patiently_Waiting I appreciate your support!

Congratulations, keep up the good work, you''ll do great! ***Dust***!!

I totally understand the pains of a runner and I commend you for training for a marathon! The longest race I''ve run is 30k (18.75 miles) and I haven''t been able to work up the determination or desire to run much longer than that! Lots and lots of dust to you!!!!

Good luck and major dust. Take it easy so you don''t injure yourself and don''t worry about your time. I know how you feel. A week before I did my last marathon, I had a severe attack of gout and my knee swelled up like a melon. I could not walk without major pain. The day of the marathon I still didn''t know how long I could run but I was going to start anyway just so I could get the t-shirt. My goal was to go easy and finish 1K and then call it quits. Well, 1k turned into 10K, then before you know it I was at the halfway point. Since I was doing fine (going slow even though the adrenaline wanted me to go faster), I knew I could finish without injuring myself so I called my wife and told her to meet me at the finish line. It was the slowest time of all my marathons, but I finished it and enjoyed the accomplishment all the same.

Porridge, Thanks so much! I appreciate your kuddos!

SammyJ THANKS! I know you''ll get up the muster, so I appreciate your support and all your dust! I also love that you know how this can STINK! wink!

Whatmeworry- Thanks. I am just injury prone, and a little scared. See I injured my knee last year running and it took 6 months of PT just to get over the issues... just to have them all come back again with some friends to bite me in the behind. Plus I have a cold now on top of it. Your story helped me get my focus. I know I can do it... I JUST HATE DOING IT SLOW. But I guess if we didn''t do it slow sometimes, what would people have to sing about, sure gave Marvyn Gaye a career! wink!

So thanks guys! Off to the EXPO!

Everyone, thanks so much for your DUST. I finnished in a little under 2 1/2 hours. It wasn''t the worlds greatest time... and it was definately a few tears later... but here I am today, just a little sore... and I''ll be out running again tomorrow.

SO THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

Congratulations on the half marathon!

I am envious of runners. I just don''t have that "running gene." I don''t even run to answer the phone.

Good luck training for the marathon!

tons of dust coming your way! Hope you do well for your marathon and hope that knee gets better in time for the events!
