Here is the short story (of a tall lady) who met the man of her dreams merely two months hence, and he, last night, in the middle of a blizzard, popped the question and she, she said yes!
Big news! Bigger than Blizzard of 08 News!
She’s not knocked up. But she may be living in a romantic comedy. There were surreptitious calls to family members whom he''s never met, (literally inquiring after the family jewels). There were diversionary tactics (planned trip to Hawaii over Valentine’s Day – too obvious?). There were bouquets of long stem red roses. There were poems of passion lobbing off the boughs of weariness. There were more phone calls and questions and a secret her whole family knew and she had no clue. Then there was a knee on the floor, there were tears, there were cheers, there were 13 Coins (remember this is a Romantic Comedy). There was a square box from Tiffany''s. There was a story about her Grandmother’s engagement ring. There was a mood ring from his daughter. There were pictures and rushed kisses and planes to catch. There was the color orange (nervous!) and purple (passionate!) and pink (love!). There was even French Onion Soup and Ice Cream.
And now here are the answers to all your questions: They met online (but really they met on a ferry), first date the first week of November, a few weeks later convinced they are both crazy or maybe just irrational and wondering if was too early to celebrate Thanksgiving together. A few weeks later there were planes scheduled and plans to meet family and they realize they really are crazy. And then there was a snowy night and now let the credits roll, but do add the romantic comedy script finale:
Early fall backdrop. Set is the hotel she worked in as a teen. The producers all agree the ending should include the gal getting hitched a day before turning 40 – and the montage of scenes from the Bride’s Birthday Bash works well while the credits finally roll
