I have an asscher cut peridot and an asscher cut aqua, I am considering making a ring with a Carre cut on each side of the main stone. Do you think it would look bad since the asscher has cut corners and the Carre cut does not?

In my opinion a natural match but more depends on the size proportions.
Again, in my opinion, the girdle length of the carré should not overextent into the clipped corners of the Asscher Cut.

Also a lot depends on the ring design and metal color I suppose.

I think it depends on prong type and placement.
That can change look dramatically.

I think that you can cover the Cree corners by designing a ring that will have triangular cornered prongs and make them look Asscher cut

I think that could work. As it's been said before me, it would just come down to the design of the ring.
