Real aquamarine

I have seen rings made in turkey and sold on etsy that are not too expensive ( in turkey silver is cheap) also good quality gemstones are way cheaper in turkey. I looked around and most of their gemstones like onyx, carneol etc seems real. I wonder if this aquamarine is real tho, personally to me it looks like coloured glass but i'm not sure, what do you guys think ?

Definately not natural aquamarine in those photos and probably not even genuine 925 sterling silver.
There are various forms of synthetic gemstones from “grown” Spinel and Corundum to ‘grown” Quartz which is similar to simple glass.
On Etsy and eBay there are hundreds, maybe thousands of sellers selling synthethic gemstones in base metal as genuine gemstones in sterling silver. I have purchased such rings and due to nickel sensitivity found out very quickly it was nickel not sterling silver (see photo)
On ebay there are sellers who have also “stolen” other peoples photos to pretend that’s what they are selling. And as fast as these sellers get banned another seller, with similar stock, starts listing on eBay.
For less than $50 it will be synthetic and likely fake metal as well.
These rings are quite pretty and fun but are just costume jewellery.

Great replies! I can't agree more, it seems highly unlikely that 925 sterling silver and aquamarine is sold under around/under 50$ That sensitivity reaction to nickel seems ferocious!

There is also synthetic aqua in the market right now that is super convincing for natural. Always buy any expensive aqua from a reputable seller.
