Love the setting... but might reset it anyways. What do you think?

AGS 000... this baby is bright!!!! The ring is currently a 6.75, and I’m a 4.75/5. So I either need to resize or reset. Also- I have a 0.52ct D SI1 Brian Gavin ideal... so I could possible do a three stone.

I’ll post some inspiration ideas but I’d love to see your ideas!

Honestly, your current setting is gorgeous! That is a stunner of a diamond. My choices for alternate setting would be the halo with plain shank and the Stuller V shaped setting. Great find!

I am digging the CVB Tierra for the stone!

And while your question is about the diamond, that setting is pretty special too. I don't think the diamond is doing it justice, but with a CS in there (omg, a ruby or a red spinel! But nearly anything, really.)... it would be killer!

Oh I am sooooo learning towards the stuller V shape! Would you wear it with a band, or just by itself?

Cvb is gorgeous but it feels weird to spent so much on a setting!

Yes- the current setting is pretty fabulous. @Niel suggested a sapphire in there... I think a turquoise sapphire would be pretty incredible!!!!

You guys are definitely helping me confirm some things!

I think you’re wasting the stones you have if you don’t do a three stone.
Don’t our it in a soli then you’ll just have a colorless half ct and a colorless 1 ct soli. You won’t wear the smaller one. Plus you have your moi et toi for that asymmetrical look.

pearaffair, I adore the Stuller v-shaped ring you posted ... I tried searching for it on google with the image but no success ... would you able to provide the Stuller model number pretty please?

I really love the setting your diamond is in, but like others I think that setting might show to better advantage with a colored gemstone. And I agree with Niel that I'd probably go with a 3-stone since you already have 2 out of the 3 ... just my 2 cents.

This is so true. I would never wear the half carat. But I haven’t found a 3-stone setting that I’m WILD about. Sometimes I like classic but sometimes I find it a bit boring. I’m fickle. Is there such a thing as an edgy 3-stone setting? I’m like a punk Audrey Hepburn. I’ll have preppy leather ankle boots with some pretty spikes or studs on the back. What would the ring equivalent of that be? Lol

Platinum 6.5mm Round 3/8 CTW Diamond Semi-Set Engagement Ring (Customized)

Yes... but what kind of 3-stone setting? I like some of the haloed 3-stone settings but I wonder if I would find that too loud for every day.

Great coverage indeed! And with three AGS 000 stones... hoo baby!!

CE6DE9C6-E0FA-4754-BCD8-2EA61D027E8C.png I think I would not be into a basic classic three stone. I need some pizazz.

This one intrigued me.

There is a chance I could trade in my Brian Gavin 0.52 D SI1 for two smaller stones.

I love it as is. Truly. I'd size it and wear it for now. If you change your mind down the road, deal with it then.

I love the original setting!
But I also love that last photo as well. Sounds like you are ready for a fun change.

While I do love it (and I do), you could also do a graduated five stone. :Up_to_something:

One option I was considering is to leave it as is and wear it when I’m next pregnant... lol my fingers swelled so much last time! Also the 50 pounds I gained...

Or I can wear it on my right hand middle finger. The low profile is really really great.

I love the original setting!

Hmm but maybe my budget doesn’t want this fun change, especially since the original setting is pretty great ;-)

Oh wow, that would be fab, wouldn’t it?! My finger might not be wide enough though... size 4.75. What do you think?

I agree with others who suggest going 3-stone since you are 2/3 the way there. You could start with a base 3-stone ring that you like, and find ways to add some uniqueness or pizzazz to it ...

Like this one, you could do a brushed finish on the outsides (north & south sides) of the metal and leave it polished on the inside to reflect the sparkle a bit, or maybe add some burnish-set accents to the north & south sides.
68ECA19A-D5BF-45D9-8354-A813BD2BC81E.png

Or maybe a hex bezel or faux hex bezel ... and again, maybe play with different metal finishes to make it more edgy.

I vote a three stone. It will look gorgeous and substantial on your small hand.

While the current setting is beautiful, I think it hides the diamond. A colored stone will really pop and will compliment the setting.

Should we start looking for a match on budget? :twisted2:

There are plenty of interesting three stones but I already know what your problem will be.

Interesting three stones won’t be something you can try on and test and I’d you can’t try it in you’ll hum and haw about if you like it.

The should semi bezel three stone is very unusual. I’m still inclined to think you’d like that if you saw it.

Those are great examples of how a 3-stone can have some flair!

Oh you know me too well!!! You’re so right. The custom route or the unknown is not one I work well with. And you know my style - I think I need to plan a field trip to go visit sholdt! I’ll post pictures! :D

Would it be a waste of a great cut to put the diamonds in something like this? But more modern vibe? 5CE21EE4-CF6B-4E53-B748-AA4C45DFA4C7.jpeg

Just a guy's POV, but based on what you currently have and what you've shared, I think this is your winner. It's a little bit wider, allows for 3 stones and has some visual interest going on that the others lack.

Plus to me, it appears the you have a main e-ring portion (blue part) and then a single wedding band with combo plain & pave section (purple) on each side. So if you get bored with one particular look, you could change up the look slightly by either e-ring, e-ring + 1 wedding band or all them -- assuming they are truly independent pieces and you don't solder them together.

Oh yeah, plus it reminds me of the wedding band my fiancee also likes.

If you want a little more traditional with some flair I also like this 3 stone setting. I think it has smooth curvy lines.

But looking at it more, perhaps I am fairly biased as this too looks similar to my fiancee's e-ring.

She too wanted a non-traditional looking e-ring, and it was a real struggle to find a setting that she loved. While it was trying at times, we both love it and she's had tons of compliments and positive response to the unique design.

Bezels will have a negligible effect on the performance of your rounds. It wouldn’t “waste” anything.

I vote a quirky 3 stone too. Maybe a vertical orientation to be kind of like a dinner ring?

Or maybe a sleek semi bezeled 3 stone?

Sledge, I love your fiancee’s e-ring so so much!!!! Well done!!!!!!!! And your suggestions are totally on point. I really appreciate the time you took to weigh in! But now that I’ve seen Mrs-B’s three stone... omg I’m in love. It might be just perfect for my busy mom life. I’m either changing diapers or washing something or hanging out on the farm... I kind of love that this is a ring I could always wear: 24063DC5-8B63-4B7B-9A69-3C5FFFEB3ACE.png
