Guys, I’m very new to jewelry, so sorry if this is a stupid question. Can any one tell me what type of stone is in the middle of this ring and if there is a specific name for this style? I came across this photo randomly and think it’s so beautiful!

Agree, looks like turquoise. The style is usually referred to as “floral style (flower petal like) halo. The ring could be antique Victorian or modern made “in the style”.
Turquoise, Jet, coral and pearls (all being “opaque” gemstones) were very popular in this period. Sometimes instead of using a diamond halo, small pearls were used.
Turquoise (sky blue colour) was associated with the “forget me not” flower which was a Symbol of true love and was thought to have the ability to ward off danger.
It was more valuable and harder to obtain in the Victorian period than nowadays.
