Honest opinions on E-W pear pendants

Hey Hey!

I stumbled upon and am eyeing this adorable little .55ct antique pear diamond, aaaannnd I think it may be just the candidate to replace my lost diamond solitaire pendant after the great chain breaking disaster of 2016 D: D: D: Big ol' culet, slightly rounded top.

I know pears are basically MADE for pendants, but for whatever reason, I don't like traditional pear drop pendants. Maybe because I prefer fixed set solitaire pendants?

As such, I was considering doing an east-west set bezel (a la photo 1), but probs with milgrain. But honest opinion, are e-w pears weird? Does it look uneven? I can't 100% decide if I like the look or not. I think I love it, but then I doubt. Haha.

I would also consider setting it point down, which also allows for a fixed pendant (photo 2). Thinking this might not look as good with this stone bc the tip is more rounded than pointy.

If not, I would definitely set it in an e-w stacker ring. Which I DO like for sure. But I really need a pendant more than a ring atm.

I really like how the asymmetry of e-w makes a pear more visually interesting!

E-W seems to be the consensus! (I agree. Maybe trendy, but I like it. Haha)

Do we like the standard set, or a little askew like JBG?

I prefer the setting in the last post but either way is nice.

When you mentioned EW pear, the first thing that came to my mind was that JBG pendant. I looove it. I think is a great mixture of modern and vintage styling. I think your vintage pear would really shine in a setting like that.

And an update. The pear sold I guess I will just have to keep my eyes peeled for another!
