Hi PS’ers!

So, I have a hot pink radiant-cut tourmaline on the way, and am getting excited thinking about setting ideas. It’s a big size (13x10.6mm), so I’m thinking with a delicate halo or double halo I will have a pretty big, blingy cocktail ring. Anyone want to help me with setting ideas? Thanks!

So you are leaning towards delicate (or double) halo?

I like a delicate halo, or a halo that sits slightly under the stone (if that makes sense). If I went double halo I would need to keep the diamonds really tiny to not overwhelm my finger. And maybe a split shank too?

I love the look of large stones on delicate settings - sort of like a gem on a (blingy) wire, look.

That will be a pretty big ring ;-).
I’ve posted a few pics of my tourmaline as it has about the same dimensions (about 13.22 - 10.09). What is the depth of your ring?
Do you have enough finger real estate for the stone and a halo? Depending on the depth you need to be careful to avoid a flying saucer look.

Would love to see your beautiful stone. Do you have a pic?

@Acinom Gorgeous! I love this look. Do you mind telling me who did the setting for you?

Let me find out the depth.

I am thinking I will need to wear this ring on my middle or index finger, as my ring finger is pretty small (size 5), and my other fingers are a little bigger - perhaps a 6? The halo would need to be quite delicate!

(The gorgeous aqua at the bottom belongs to another PS’er.)

Exact measurements are 12.8 x 10.6 x 7.6 (depth).

Halo!! It will also protect the sides, since tourmaline is prone to chipping. Gorgeous color!!

Double prongs since it’s a huge stone.

Thank you! Victor Canera made my ring. I can truly recommend working with him, delending on your budget. The stunning aqua ring you posted belongs to @arkieb1 . Hers is also made by Victor Canera.

@Acinom thank you! I don’t know if my budget will stretch to VC. I have a few other projects in the works and don’t want to spend too much on this one as the stone wasn’t that expensive. Perhaps David Klass? He seems well regarded here and lots of people comment on how reasonable he is.
