Hello forum.

So what are the ideal specs for stones to be used as earrings?

My budget is $15k.

I want the maximum amount of performance. Thank you

Well, ideal specs for what you'd like in earrings are the same as every one else: "It depends." :) Some people are OK with dropping on color/clarity in studs a bit, and some need to match color, etc. to other diamond pieces they wear with them.

IDJewelry seems to be really good at maxing out size and performance with a particular budget, for that type of "I want the best within XYZ budget" shopping. May be worth it to give them a call, talk with Yakutiel, tell them you're from Pricescope (so they know to search for a particular level of stone for you), and then see what they can offer!

Whiteflash

I personally like these a bit more than the ones above

CBI diamonds are also great performers and their diamonds are cut almost to exact sizes in the carat weight so finding a matched pair will be easy

IDJ as suggested above are great, tell them you want pricescope quality and they will do you right.

I believe Garry says with earrings you can do more of a 60/60 to get spread as long as it is still under 2 and with good performance on HCA and assets etc

If you want the maximum amount of performance and the sparkliest diamonds-- get superideals graded by AGS from a reputable vendor with a great upgrade policy. Personally I'd go for a pair of 1.2ish I/J/K color as close to 7mm as possible in some nice secure settings. Size, value, white color, full upgrade policy for the future.

A 60/60 or is not going to give you the 'sparkliest' performance it will give you a lot of white light, but not sparkle. And even with a GIA 3x you'll have to hunt through a bunch of diamonds that might have undisclosed issues like brown tint or haziness because the labs don't disclose those. And you won't get the same quality of upgrade and buyback policies that you do with the superideal vendors.
