Any thoughts/comments on this ring and stone?

Came across this preloved Leon Mege. This, I think, is what I finally settled on. Either an emerald, asscher or possibly an oval solitaire.

1) I know from this site Leon Mege is one of the best but it’s a bit smaller than I hoped and I wish the band was thinner.
2) LOVE this stone even more but the price is a bit much for me at the moment but we may be able to swing it and just wait for setting.

Any comments or thoughts on either of these?

Thank you, @Austina!!
@sophiapetrillo,
You’re comparing two different cuts of the same shape of diamond. Vintage & Antique cuts are a different breed of step cut than modern cuts.
I’m a fan of both.
However, with Vintage cuts, you must expect broader, more open facets, which may (and likely will) perform greatly different than a modern cut EC.
The Leon Mege & the JbG Stones are completely different, but equally beautiful.
The SI2 does have inclusions that will probably be visible to the naked eye from 6” away, in certain light.
You have to decide what your “flavor” is, and how tolerant you are of inclusions.
Allow me to introduce you to August Vintage, Inc.’s newest addition....
The AVEC set in a David Klass Beauty!!

Jon at AV is awesome, and wonderful to work with!
These are the first ideal cut vintage EC’s....EVER!!
Brian Gavin carries the first ideal cut modern EC’s...EVER!!

Not sure of your max budget, BUT....worth putting it all into the stone, setting it in a temp setting, and saving for its forever home.
You can’t beat these EC’s....just choose your “flavor”. ;)2

PS... that AVEC is TO.DIE.FOR.:love::love:

Agreed!! Reach out to Jon ( @Rhino ), and ask him for a quote. He will help you find what you’re looking for, within your budget, and specs!
Please let us know what you decide, or if you need to continue the search!
I know JbG has great inventory, and I LOVE her posts!
I’d, personally, pass on the LM listing, only because you’ll stretch your budget due to the setting, rather than “investing” more in the stone.
No matter which direction you turn, you’re getting great quality.
You seem to have an eye for vintage cuts. Perhaps, AV is your best step!!
