9ct and 18ct

I know 9ct white gold is harder and so can wear away 18ct gold if worn together, but what if both are rhodium plated? I really really want this new ring I''ve seen to wear together with my 9ct but it only comes in 18ct, is there any way it is possible to wear the two together?

You could have an 18ct spacer between them and the 9ct ring will then wear away the spacer.
Or solder the 2 rings together so they will not move.
Rhodium will not stop the problem.
