does anyone have an online visual that could give me an idea of the visible difference between a .85 carat weight diamond and a 1.00 carat weight diamond.
Dirt Cheap Diamond has a beautiful .85 carat weight princess diamond but I have been looking at 1.00 carat.
It''s not the weight as much as the actual size (diameter) that shows.
There are two princess cuts of 85 points in the "signature collection" at DCD: one 5.11X5.17mm and another 5.11X5.07. The first is just a hair larger - not noticeable, IMO.
Just as an example, here''s one 0.8cts and a 1ct prrincess that have just about the same size because they were cut differently:
The difference between the two diameters is below a tenth of a milimeter! not visible... the difference of weight does count towards their price, of course.
thank you for the reply. That definetly helps. I have been looking at 1 carat princess cuts of the ideal cut variety with the following
Clarity - VS1 or above
Color - F or above
carat - .96 - 1.04
This is my ideal but I would rather not spend more than $5,000 for a complete ring and I have found this will be difficult with my ideal parameters. So, I''m trying to make a few sacrifices on "ideal" yet still find the perfect ring for my sweetheart.
She loves princess cuts, mentioned noticing the difference from a 1 carat to a .75 carat, and of course wants it to be brilliant, but perfection in the VS1 range would not be important to her. Mostly no visible inclusions.
