Ok... I have a setting picked out and a local jewler who will help me evaluate and will set the diamond I purchase. I''m looking for a round brilliant cut stone but other than that I''m not sure exactly what I want. My price range is $6000 - $6500. Anyone seen any great buys out there in my price range? I''ve looked at a lot of stones but can''t make up my mind. Please help!

i have a solution! here is my address, i can take a nice money order.

HAH! well you didn't give much to go on...what is your thought on color, clarity and size? are you looking for biggest with excellent cut for max sparkle and brilliance but within a clarity and color range?

i will give my opinion as well, I have seen E, G, H and I stones VERY in-depth aka i owned them, the E, H and I were all excellently cut ideal stones. to be really honest, not alot of color difference visible to my eye. the I has some color when viewed from the side but really you have to look for it and it's not even COLOR as much as it is just an off-white look. hard to explain but subtle. the larger the stone the more visible the color. I prefer a well-cut H myself.

for clarity, this is where alot of people differ, but to maximize your budget, I would do SI quality, SI2 if you can find a nice eye clean stone. that gives you a huge price break and you could get a bigger but still excellently cut stone. as long as it's eye clean, no one knows it's not VVS. that is my favorite part, being a bargain hunter.

a bargain LV bag in a consignment store for 1/3 price...mmmm.

lastly, don't compromise too much on cut, that is what gives you fabulous sparkle and fire. my next post will be a quickie show of what i can find in 2 minutes for you to look at using the pscope cut quality search.

Thanks so much for your help! Interesting..so you would go with a larger H/I than a 1.1-1.5 G/F? I will definitely check these out. #4 looks like a good stone to me.
