Hello All,

My employer says Thank You each holiday season by gifting $200 Visa cards. Well I did not redeem the $200 card from last year, and I have just received the annual $200 for 2010. So I am thinking a jewelry purchase is they way to go. I am adding $100 myself to round up to the $500.

I am looking for suggestions for a nice jewelry purchase to say Merry Christmas to me.

I am thinking a RHR, However, I am open to any and all ideas that would work with a $500 budget.

Terry

Before I go on the hunt make sure that the one from last year is still valid. I can see something like that expiring.

For the most part, I think Tiffany is fairly overpriced ... but some of their charms are really cute. With a $500 budget, I'd be tempted to get something like one of these ....

silver espresso cup, $150: http://www.tiffany.com/shopping/Ite...params=s+5-p+1-c+288216-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

tiny gold key, $375: http://www.tiffany.com/shopping/Ite...arams=s+5-p+16-c+288216-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

What about pearls? A few hundred goes a LONG way in pearls! Then come over to the pearl forum to see other's selections and get even more help! :appl:

http://www.catherinecardellinipearls.com/?subject=necklaces&page=4 Classic, BIG whites, but Catherine has a HUGE variety of styles.

All of these sites have tons of options in various price ranges and styles, especially Catherine's. You could easily put together a suite of a pearl strand and earrings for under your budget. Pearls are coming into style in a big way; watch any national news one day and you'll see a lot of women are wearing them. With all the new styles and natural COLORS these are not your Grandma's pearls! :D

You might want to check out etsy...they will have some lovely things in your price range.

I have a necklace by Patrick Irla and his work is lovely!

You could do a pendant key by JKT but not sure what her schedule is...

I also heard that Daniel M does nice work...you can look at his sold stuff to get ideas.

Its always fun to have something made.

Fortunoff is back as a jewelry website business for now. They have a lot of lovely things for under $500.-

I happened to be on FB the other day just a few minutes after they launched the new site. Oh.so.cool. :sun: It looks like Esther is maintaining their diamond quality and I was happy to see that. I saw a couple of pieces I already own there, as well as a few that I missed out on buying. I'm looking forward to next year when they really beef up the site.

OK, so I'm bored at work and found a lot for you to check out, maybe you'll like one of these finds
So these first few are from a "maul store" I know, I know, but they are having a great sale and for a budget of $500, you can get a lot of bling for your buck:

OR, if you want to go the diamond route, I found a really nice really small diamond and a couple nice ring settings :naughty:

Hullo All,

radiantquest, that wide band ring is very nice. Thanks for the quick result. Too funny about my gift card. It had expired by I begged for mercy and they are sending me a check minus $5.00 processing fee. So its all good.

Circe, the Tiffany charms are adorable. Again Thanks! Only charm bracelet I own is a pandora. Wonder if those would fit.

iLander, pearls...classic. Am leaning toward more small sparkly item. Pearls though are something to think about.

tyty333, Loving the bezel jewlery on etsy. The stack hydrangea too cute.

gemgirl will check out Fortunoff thanks for the pointer

RissaLou, I will give the maul store a peek. The dainty diamond from amazon is pulling me. Question what is your experience with purchasing stones from them if any?

oranges, those praseolite earrings those made my heart go pitter patter. I too own the mesh twist earrings in silver. I tend to go for white metals. The gold are beautiful though.

Thanks All, I have more searching to do. The sites and suggestions are a great start. Decisions..Decisions....what a lovely dilemma..

Hey Tmissy! I love amazon's loose diamonds, they are all GIA certified and come with the certificate, quick shipment, and they have a 30 money back guarantee which is what sold me. I price compared many sites and have found them to be the most competitive by far. They are very accurate with their measurements. They only problem I forsee is that I created a whole ring through them and I don't know if you can just by the diamond, but if you get their most basic setting, which I think is $127, then you can always get it reset latter. IDK maybe some of the other ladies have some more info to add if anybody else has ordered through Amazon? Anywho I hope this helped and I really do hope you find something you love, what a fun self gift! :appl:
