I am considering two rings, both 3 stone pink sapphires. One center stone is just over 5 ct and the other is 10 ct. I wear a size 11. Does anyone have any pics or can you point me to any pictures to show the difference of a 5 v 10 ct on a large hand?

Also when buying online, is it really that difficult to get a dealer to send pics on a hand? Has anyone bought online and asked before? I have asked to see both on a hand to help with the decision and was told they would have to see where the rings were located. And then nothing. No more contact.

And my final question is about a colored stone for an engagement. Would I be better off getting a traditional platinum white diamond ring and keeping the color to something that isnt a mandatory daily wearer?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I think it is a personal choice on whether to choose a coloured gemstone or a diamond for your ring. You may wish to post your question on the coloured stones forum so that you can get more responses..

It would be impossible to approximate those sizes without having the dimensions of the stones. I, personally, don''t think a pink sapphire ring would look like an e-ring, but certainly you are free to choose what you like! We do sometimes see blue sapphire engagement rings, however, and I think those look more like e-rings especially when they are set in an e-ring setting. I''d love to have a pink sapphire right hand ring, though!
