~~42 carat garnet pendant

Just thought I'd share my garnet pendant from Nepal. It's set in sterling silver. The carat weight is about 42 carats – just an approximate calculation. It's got three tiers on it. I love it.

I like long chains. I normally wear 30" chains with my pendants. I haven't really had a chance to wear this yet because it's a little big and flashy, A bit too much for a normal working situation. I really need to get myself on some fancy party lists so I have places to where I can wear my bling! LOL. I'd probably wear it with a 30 inch or 24 inch, depending on the clothes, thick Sterling chain of some kind. Maybe of Figaro or plain box chain. It would probably look really good on a thick silver collar, but I don't really have a neckline suitable for short necklaces in my opinion.

I think this is very wearable on a scarf or jacket lapel or hat pin if it can be converted into a brooch.

Yes, that's true, Chrono. I like longer chains but I would worry about this getting banged around because it's so big. It would be good as a brooch if I could get it converted someday. I can picture it on a jacket lapel....it would make quite a statement.
