4 prong versus 3 martini settings? white gold or platinum?

so many freaking decisions??

anyone have any advice on this? I was thinking of going with 3 martini setting. Spending more than i originally wanted to on the diamonds, so going with a 14K white gold setting. Will I regret this? Does anyone have any advice??

I think 14 k WG is a good choice for earrings, you won't really see the metal anyway. Maybe look for pics of 4 prong vs 3 prong martini settings?

they both look good to me....question is what would my wife like?? she's 30, and the diamonds are half carat each, 1 ct total.

Really I don't think you can go wrong with either

Also just to check she doesn't have WG sensitivity?

For 1 ct total weight (.5 carat each)....is there one setting that might be better than the other?

Also - not sure if there is any kind of age thing, but my wife is 31. Do younger women have a different preference?

Please help!! I don't want to screw this up, I worked really hard on finding good diamonds.

Either setting will be lovely. I personally prefer the martinis, as they sit closer to the ear, and have a more delicate look. WG is fine as long as she is not allergic. I'm sure they will be gorgeous!

I prefer martinis too -- but I'm allergic to WG and have a yellow-undercast to my skin, so I'd actually go for a YG setting (so it will blend in with my skin more).

Btw, you did a great job on the diamonds.

much, much prefer 14kwg or palladium (if allergies) for earrings - no weighty metals to drag one's holes down and droop in the ear.

oh, i thought the question was 3-prong martini vs 4-prong martini, not vs 4-prong basket. I also prefer the martini settings. I think your wife will LOVE them!

Martinis are more open and delicate. I would recommend those.
