4 ct Pear cut engagement ring

Hello everyone,

I am so excited to say that I am going to be the proud new owner of a large pear cut engagement ring with pave. We are looking at a stone that is 4.12 carats; however, I am having some reservations about the size. Do any fellow pear owers have a problem with the tip of their pear sitting to far down on your finger - eg. too close to you knuckle? I have heard other ring owners talk about this and just wondering if any of you find this a problem.

The length and wideth of the stone is pretty close to 14 x 9. I know that some of the smaller pears that are set in halos get up there is size as well so just curious if you have any problems with the longer stone.

Lucky lady..I have a pear, but it''s less than a full carat in size. Not a problem to wear! But 14 mm long? WOWZWERS..that is gonna be huge on your finger!! What kind of setting did you go with?

I have a 6ct marquise cut Ruby which is 17.5mm long by 8.5mm wide so I guess when it''s on the finger it''s pretty much the same dimensions as you''re considering. I wear it on a size 6 finger and the Ruby covers most of the bottom part of my finger but it doesn''t get in the way of my knuckle. However, because it''s heavy it does twist on the finger and slides to the side which drives me potty!

Mine is 12mm long and I don''t notice any issues wearing it. I can''t imagine that 2mm more will suddenly make it uncomfortable?

Mine is almost 13mm long and that's without the halo. With the halo, the tip almost reaches my knuckle, particularly as I have short fingers. But it doesnn't bother me at all

shouldnt be to long on the knuckle unless the ring is very heavy and pulls the ring down to the knuckle area.Congrats on your new friend!

My largest pear is about 3.56, give or take a point or 2. It''s rather chubby and there is no problem with the point.
